Scythe Robotics is formally kicking off our 2025 Summer Internship Program! Our mission is to cultivate a world-class experience for both our dedicated employees and the talented interns who join us. We believe in the power of hands-on, real-world experiences that not only boost resumes but forge lasting relationships.

This 12-week internship opportunity will open the doors to every facet of our dynamic business, regardless of a student’s specific focus. We're committed to providing interns with a holistic understanding of our operations. And for the Scythers who mentor our interns, you'll play a pivotal role in their journey. You'll oversee the projects the interns lead and engage in dotted-line leadership responsibilities, preparing you for future managerial positions.

What you’ll do at Scythe  

We expect you to thrive in a fast-paced, self-managed engineering environment, and to be a collaborative, low-ego teammate who helps Scythe realize its big mission.

In this Manufacturing Engineering Intern role you will design and build fixturing solutions that enhance efficiency and quality in our manufacturing process. Additionally, you'll create clear, detailed work instructions for new manufacturing processes, helping to standardize operations and train production staff. 

This internship offers practical experience in a dynamic robotics manufacturing environment, allowing you to apply engineering principles to real-world production challenges.

More about this role and expected projects 

  • Design and build fixturing for use in the production process
  • Work with the manufacturing engineering team to design and build electronic test setups.
  • Conduct research and analysis on new equipment requirements for future designs.
  • Development of electronic test setups to ensure product reliability and performance standards. 
  • Create work instructions for new processes

What you know well

  • How to work safely in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Basic use of hand and power tools
  • How to do research on topics that you are unfamiliar with
  • How to write effective instructions

What you’ve maybe done

  • Build things by hand
  • Designed mechanical assemblies in Solidworks or other CAD systems.
  • Programmed in Python
  • Used Linux
  • Worked in a manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment

Scythe carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including education, years of experience, competencies and other relevant business considerations. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary along with your compensation mode preferences. The Production Engineering Internship has an expected hourly amount of $20/hr. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only.
