Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. This positions is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers in developing and implementing a well-planned systems engineering approach to requirements definition, architecture and interface definition, system integration, verification, and test for current and future large-scale missile systems. As a Lead Engineer, you will lead the technical performance of systems engineering, integration, and test functions in support of advanced programs under the direction, and in-collaboration with, Program Management leadership. In this role, you will provide engineering and scientific leadership in performing technical analysis, trade studies, research, development, and test and evaluation to lead system definition and realization activities, resolve issues, and make recommendations regarding enhanced capabilities. Under your technical leadership, a large team of engineers and scientist (500+) will utilize data engineering, digital engineering and model-based systems engineering to perform operational concept development, feasibility studies, design, development and evaluation of hardware and software for new designs, modifications, and upgrades of Naval weapon systems and system of systems.

Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program's inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation's nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630

- Desired experience in digital engineering and models-based systems engineering principles and tool
- INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, or equivalent certification

- Prior industry experience that afforded opportunities to implement Data Engineering / AI/ML solutions for DoD programs
