ABOUT THE ROLE

REPAY is a fast-paced FinTech company experiencing significant growth and expansion. We're seeking an execution-focused Product Owner to help drive the product roadmap both strategically and tactically within our Business Payments product group. This role will provide leadership for product initiatives from requirements definition through launch, help evolve our Product team toward AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate delivery and unlock deeper customer insights. This is an opportunity to be an integral part of a high visibility team at the forefront of how product management is evolving in financial technology.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sales, Technology, Operations, Finance, and key customers to drive product innovation and roadmap decisions
  • Execute on delivery of product initiatives by fostering close coordination with Engineering and QA teams, leveraging AI tools to streamline backlog refinement, user story generation, and prioritization.
  • Identify market opportunities and maintain a rolling four-quarter product roadmap, reviewed and published quarterly, using AI-powered competitive intelligence and market analysis.
  • Actively engage with cross-functional teams to execute on integrated roadmap capabilities and Go-to-Market (GTM) efforts
  • Close competitive product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, reduce costs and reduce operational friction.
  • Improve the internal and external customer experience and drive product and channel penetration with existing clients.
  • Maintain an expert level of product and market knowledge for the Business Payments vertical.
  • Manage the Product backlog to rapidly deliver value to customers.
  • Collaborate with Technology to prioritize ongoing technology and security maintenance activities.
  • Continued expansion of our payments network and intelligently routing payments to meet or exceed REPAY, customer and vendor needs.
  • Champion AI adoption within the product team and identify opportunities to embed AI tools into product workflows, document best practices, and help upskill peers.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in business payments and financial technology with progressive responsibility.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools within product management workflows including competitive research, requirements drafting, user story generation, PRD creation, POC construction and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to build requirements based on business stakeholder input and translate them into well-structured user stories for engineering teams.
  • Deep technical understanding of the U.S. payments ecosystem (card, ACH, checks) and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Deep experience with major payment networks (PaymodeX, RPPS, etc) and integrations with those networks.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology and direct engagement with technical engineering teams.
  • Effective communication across all levels of the organization, with a spirit of building strong business and team relationships.
  • Well-organized and thorough; able to structure, analyze, and answer technical and business questions while balancing multiple competing priorities.
  • Highly adaptable with a bias toward action, collaboration, and continuous improvement including staying current on how AI is reshaping FinTech Product Management.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Payments Professional Certification (e.g., AAP, CPP).
  • Certified Product Owner or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) designation.
  • Strong proficiency with JIRA, including experience with AI-enhanced project management features or integrations.
  • Exposure to Agentic Commerce, AI/ML-powered enrollment, payment routing, fraud detection, or decisioning is a strong plus.
