- Manage the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with Agile teams to deliver value
- Advocates for stakeholder needs and serves as the bridge between stakeholders and development teams by ensuring timely communication between both entities on prioritization, status, and impact
- Manage the product backlog, organizing sprint activities, and ensuring product planning and effective prioritization
- Develop, communicate and provide a clear roadmap that aligns with stakeholder needs and company goals
- Applies design and systems techniques (e.g., user stories, wireframing, prototyping) to define product features
- Typically uses team scrum/agile development techniques and tools for team collaboration, product testing, issue tracking and backlog management.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand pain points, inefficiencies, and business needs and translates them into an overall strategy, vision, and backlog for the product
- Defines detailed requirements and translates them into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria that are outcome focused
- Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that the most impactful work is prioritized, and it is well-defined and understood by the development team
- Communicates clearly with stakeholders, ensuring transparency, managing expectations, and driving consensus on key decisions
- Develop and improve processes, workflows, enhancements, and lead specific projects to improve the operating environment
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in product ownership or business analysis, ideally in insurance or financial services
- Familiarity with Agile in regulated environments
- Ability to own and prioritize a product backlog
- Ability to translate complex business rules into user stories and acceptance criteria
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
- Analytical thinking and data-informed decision-making
- Experience with tools like: Jira, Azure DevOps, or (for backlog management), Confluence, Notion, or Google Docs (for documentation), and Figma, Lucid chart, or Miro (for wireframes and collaboration)
- Intermediate proficiency with PowerPoint with the ability to design a well-structured presentation and tailor content to varied audiences
- Basic use of analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Google Analytics, Mix panel, Tableau, etc.)
Ability to Travel: Up to 25%
