The Product Owner maximizes product value by collaborating with key stakeholders, managing the product backlog, and ensuring the development team delivers business-aligned features. They help lead the core engineering, product, and design team by prioritizing work, translating business needs into functional requirements, and overseeing the execution of ideas into manageable user stories that represent the customer's perspective. The Product Owner maintains the product backlog's visibility, guides the development team through user stories, and is ultimately responsible for the acceptance of delivered features.

ResponsibilitiesProduct Vision and Strategy
  • Champion and communicate the product vision and roadmap as defined by the product team, ensuring clear alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and market needs.
  • Support development of the product strategy aligned with company goals and trends in customer-driven product feedback.
Product Backlog Management 
  • Create and manage the product backlog.
  • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
  • Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with our Support and customer-facing teams to analyze and prioritize inbound customer feedback, questions, and reported issues.
Sprint Planning and Execution
  • Participate and/or lead in sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
  • Clarify user stories and provide guidance to the development team.
  • Review completed user stories and ensure they meet acceptance criteria.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as a liaison between roadmap stakeholders and the product development team ensuring clarity needed for roadmap execution.
  • Provide regular updates on development progress to the Product Manager and other key stakeholders.
  • Gather and analyze stakeholder feedback.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role.
  • Experience in managing product backlogs and/or writing user stories.
  • Knowledge of the industry and market trends.
  • Experience working in SaaS or in the financial services/fintech industry is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of basic analysis, troubleshooting, and learning basic testing in lower environments.

To comply with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location.

For full time hires, the hiring base pay range for this position is between $107,000 and $126,000. Beyond base pay, Blend benefits and perks are described below.  

Final base pay offer amounts will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to function, level, geographic location, job related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay will be adjusted for part-time roles to reflect scheduled hours.
