Job Description:

The Product Owner will directly support our ServiceNow development and support team. Additionally, the Product Owner will interact both with cross functional Agile Release Train teams within the SAFe methodology and with other engineering and operations delivery teams, to ensure solutions are optimally designed, developed, and implemented to achieve strategic goals. They will serve as a liaison between the internal customers and ServiceNow team for strategic roadmap content, own the team backlogs and manage its dependencies. They will write and provide acceptance criteria for user stories, and coordinate feature backlog for all planning increments. The product owner will participate in all agile sprint ceremonies for an agile development team.
This role will report to the Software Product Manager, as part of the Information Technology department. This is a dynamic opportunity to work alongside leadership across the entire company, including Product, Operations, Finance, Sales, and more.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Collect and prioritize current and future product feature requests by working with product managers, business stakeholders and external customers
  • Work with internal customers to define, document and maintain business processes, functional and non-functional requirements for both agile and non-agile projects and features.
  • Work with support group to identify and categorize customer product feedback into defects, issues, or enhancements
  • Prepare and participate in Program Increment planning, backlog refinement and updating the team backlog and work queue accordingly
  • Create user stories and development of story acceptance criteria. Able to provide the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates
  • Act as the voice of the business during iteration planning, ensuring that engineering teams understand and deliver on business expectations
  • Understand the scope of the upcoming enabler work and collaborate with Architects on decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures which will enable new business functionality
  • Present product features at sprint demonstrations to end users, managers, and executives
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications:       

  • In-depth understanding of ServiceNow products, including IT Service Management (ITSM), Customer Service Management (CSM), Knowledge Management, and Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • 2+ years of agile development and business analysis or product owner experience
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and software development lifecycle
  • Strong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail when risks or issues arise.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to understand current technical architecture and designs.
  • Ability to influence and work with others to achieve results
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical and functional concepts in both written and verbal forms to diverse audiences at all levels.
  • Ability to test and validate functionality as a proxy to the business and technical teams
  • Approaches problems from different perspectives to suggest and implement solutions
  • Takes accountability for delivering on commitments; owns mistakes and uses them as opportunities for learning and development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of ServiceNow product knowledge in the following areas (Employee Center, Integrations leveraging RESTful APIs, Flow Designer, SecOps, IRM, SPM, SAFe/Agile 2.0)
  • Experience within SCRUM or SAFe
  • Experience working with tracking, testing, source control and collaboration tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, Wiki, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Experience with user experience and interface design and best practices for usability for a customer portal and wireframing tools such as Axure or Figma
  • Experience documenting as-is and to-be process flows using BPMN and narratives
  • Previous experience within a Data Governance environment
  • Strong knowledge of IT standards and best practices
  • Possesses strong product/technology/industry knowledge

Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $100,000 - $118,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.  
  
Variable Pay: Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.
