The Product Owner, Commercial Strategy serves as the strategic bridge between business objectives and technology delivery within Choice Hotels’ commercial ecosystem. This role is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and executing the product roadmap that enables revenue optimization, pricing intelligence, distribution effectiveness, and brand performance across Choice’s portfolio.
You’ll partner with stakeholders across Revenue Management, Distribution, Marketing, and Franchise Services to deliver products and capabilities that drive commercial excellence and measurable business outcomes.

   

JOB SUMMARY:

The Product Owner, Commercial Strategy acts as a strategic connector between business goals and technology delivery within Choice Hotels’ commercial ecosystem. This role defines and drives the product roadmap to support revenue optimization, pricing intelligence, distribution effectiveness, and brand performance. The position collaborates cross-functionally with teams in Revenue Management, Distribution, Marketing, and Franchise Services to deliver impactful solutions. This is an individual contributor role with broad influence across commercial strategy initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Define and deliver technology solutions aligned with commercial strategy and enterprise goals.
  • Translate business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage flex queue and critical defect backlog to optimize ROI and operational impact.
  • Drive system enhancements to support evolving business needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, Technology, and Franchise Operations.
  • Serve as liaison between business teams and engineering (SkyTouch), ensuring alignment on goals and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with UX, data science, and digital teams to improve customer and franchisee experiences.

Performance & Delivery

  • Lead continuous improvement through testing, feedback, and iterative development.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features, enhancements, and integrations.

Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a thought leader within the commercial strategy organization.
  • Communicate vision, progress, and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Employment Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in product ownership, product management, or strategy—preferably in hospitality, travel, or e-commerce.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Exposure to pricing strategy, channel optimization, or commercial analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Product Owner certification (CSPO or equivalent).
  • Experience with RMS, CRS, or GDS platforms.

SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $98,000 - $115,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).

The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Field/Remote — Select roles designated as field/remote will require associates to work from a home office, connecting virtually with Choice team members and leadership on Zoom, with possible required travel depending on the role.
