The Company

At Nylas, we specialize in making it easier for developers to add email, calendar, and contact management features into their applications. We provide APIs, which streamline the integration of these functionalities, ensuring they are secure and effective. This enables better, safer, and more reliable communication within apps.

Supporting over 100,000 developers and collaborating with more than 900 companies globally, Nylas plays a pivotal role in how digital communication tools are built and utilized. Our technology spans various sectors, from healthcare to education, simplifying the complex process of app development related to communications. By reducing the barriers in communication technology, we empower developers to innovate and enhance user interaction across platforms.

The Team

High Autonomy, High Impact

The Product team at Nylas doesn't just "manage" features, we own outcomes. We operate with a founder’s mindset: you’ll have full end-to-end ownership of your domain, from early-stage discovery to shipping and scaling.

We’re a close-knit group of builders who value calculated risks over "playing it safe." You’ll have the autonomy to move fast, but you’ll never work in a silo. We share wins, dissect failures, and constantly push each other to raise the bar for what a developer platform can be.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with leadership to define and execute the roadmap for the Nylas Connectivity Suite (Email, Calendar, Contacts), with a specific focus on unlocking AI utility that provide immediate value to our customers.

  • Translate complex technical infrastructure into clear business value. You’ll be just as comfortable debating API architecture with engineers as you are discussing GTM strategy with Marketing.

  • Gather deep insights from our developer community and enterprise partners. You’ll lead closed betas and feedback loops to ensure we’re building what the market needs before they even know they need it.

  • Own the documentation and launch lifecycle. You’ll ensure that every release is high-quality, well-communicated, and sets a new standard for developer experience.

  • Conduct research and validate assumptions to make high-velocity decisions—even when the data is messy or incomplete.

What You Must Bring

  • You have 3+ years of product management experience working with technical products, preferably with APIs, data transformations, and developer platforms

  • Experience collaborating with Engineering teams to outline product requirements and outline trade-offs and risks

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can get a lot done with minimal direction

  • Your curiosity is boundless and you’re always looking for opportunities to improve the product

  • You’re comfortable talking to engineers about code and can read technical documentation to create product requirements but can also talk business value and use cases to develop GTM in collaboration with product marketing

  • You have the ability to dive into details when executing while constantly reviewing the big picture to make sure priorities are correct

  • You have excellent communication skills and have experience working with distributed teams

Interview Process

  • Round 1 - The Intro: 30 minute discussion with the Hiring Manager

  • Round 2 - The Deep Dive: Take home assignment to be followed by a 60 minute presentation with a panel

  • Round 3- The Loop: A series of 45-minute chats with the team (max 3 hours) where we look for the "what, why, and how" behind your best work.

During the various discussions, candidates selected to meet with us are strongly encouraged to not only discuss their knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities but also to showcase examples of their current or previous work. We expect you to clearly outline the "what," "why," and "how" behind your contributions.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 - 160,000 CAD. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications, which are objectively assessed during the interview process. Factors influencing salary include knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities.
