About Xano:
Xano is the leading backend infrastructure platform for building APIs, logic, and workflows that power modern apps, services, and AI agents—visually and without code. Built for the agentic era, Xano provides everything you need to launch and scale AI-driven systems: dynamic APIs, contextual business logic, scalable storage, and secure, production-grade deployment—without DevOps overhead or stitching together fragmented tools. Trusted by over 100,000 users in 90+ countries.
Why we’re hiring:
As we enter the agentic era, AI-driven systems are replacing traditional user interfaces—and Xano is leading the charge. Our platform empowers teams to build scalable backends that power intelligent agents, workflows, and modern apps-visually and without code.
With over 100,000 users already trusting Xano, demand is growing fast from enterprises and builders alike. To meet this moment, we’re expanding our platform to support new personas and use cases-unlocking the next generation of agent-native development.
Design will play a pivotal role in shaping these experiences. We’re hiring a Product Designer to help make complex backend and AI orchestration workflows intuitive, accessible, and delightful—especially for users who are new to development but ready to build powerful systems in a post-UI world.
Who we’re looking for:
You simplify the complex. You're a systems thinker who designs intuitive, powerful experiences for technical users - from indie makers to enterprise teams. You lead with curiosity and clarity, using research, data, and design craft to shape product experiences that feel elegant and purposeful.
You thrive in fast-paced, remote-first environments. You’re comfortable working across the full design lifecycle, from discovery to launch, and bring cross-functional teams along with clear communication, thoughtful rationale, and a bias toward action.
What you’ll be doing:
- Improve core product experiences by leading redesigns that reduce friction and measurably increase user success and satisfaction.
- Own the full design lifecycle from exploration through production-ready specs - balancing speed, clarity, and visual polish at every stage.
- Deliver accessible, intuitive designs that are clearly documented, implementation-ready, and easy for engineers to bring to life.
- Translate research into strategy by turning insights and data into actionable design decisions aligned with user and business needs.
- Shape product direction by partnering with Product and Engineering to define opportunities, hypotheses, and success metrics.
- Strengthen our design system by contributing patterns and components that scale design quality across the platform.
- Raise the bar for design quality by facilitating reviews, sharing rationale, and ensuring a high standard from idea through implementation.
- Advocate for the user throughout the product lifecycle - using research and feedback loops to validate designs post-launch and iterate effectively.
- Bias toward progress over perfection by rapidly exploring, testing, and evolving ideas to find what works - including use of AI prototyping tools like Figma Make, Cursor, and others to accelerate iteration and ideation.
- Inspire through storytelling by clearly communicating design decisions, championing bold ideas, and bringing others along with compelling narratives.
Your Competencies:
- End-to-end ownership: 3+ years designing digital products, ideally in SaaS, dev tools, or low-code/no-code platforms - with a portfolio that shows UX depth, visual craft, and data-informed decisions.
- Simplification mindset: Experience turning complex technical workflows into intuitive, elegant experiences.
- Cross-functional fluency: Proven ability to lead design efforts with minimal direction, collaborate deeply with PMs and engineers, and align stakeholders.
- Figma mastery: You know how to create, evolve, and maintain design systems that scale.
- Technical intuition: Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS and a strong sense of feasibility - you speak engineering’s language.
- User insight-driven: Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research; you ground design decisions in real user needs and behaviors.
- Clear communication: Able to tell the story of your work, present trade-offs, and foster alignment through thoughtful dialogue.
- Adaptability: Self-driven and responsive to change — you iterate quickly, learn from feedback, and thrive in a remote-first, evolving environment.
- Bonus: Familiarity with developer-focused tools, no-code/low-code platforms, or AI prototyping technologies like Figma Make, Cursor, and others.
Why work at Xano:
This is an exciting opportunity to work at a fast-growing, mission and community-driven startup.
- Opportunity for impact: we have an open, direct team culture: leadership discusses initiatives, issues, and plans openly, and enjoys being challenged on their thinking.
- We move fast: we are product-led and are focused on execution in the day-to-day. This means no endless meetings on strategy and execution. If we disagree about a feature direction, we'll default to trying it out in a quick, low-risk way.
- Ownership: we measure success based on customer happiness. If you pitch something you think would dramatically improve our users' lives and the team agrees, the response will almost always be “Let’s do it!”
