Broadridge is Growing! We are seeking a Product Manager – Tax Withholding with deep expertise in tax withholding, regulatory compliance, and financial services operations to lead the strategy, development, and ongoing enhancement of withholding and tax reporting capabilities.
This role will own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery of solutions that support accurate, compliant, and scalable withholding processing and reporting across the organization. The Product Manager will work closely with Tax, Compliance, Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders to translate complex regulatory requirements into product capabilities, operational controls, and system improvements. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of domain expertise, product management discipline, and execution leadership in regulated financial environments.

Work-Mode: This is a remote role where you will work off-site. Travel is limited and generally used for team learning and collaboration meetings.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and priorities for tax withholding and related tax reporting capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary product lead and subject matter expert for withholding rules, processing logic, and regulatory requirements across asset classes, including equities, mutual funds, fixed income, and options.
  • Partner with Tax, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams to define and deliver solutions that meet evolving business and regulatory needs.
  • Translate IRS regulations, tax guidance, and industry requirements into clear product requirements, feature definitions, business rules, and functional capabilities.
  • Define and manage the product backlog, including epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization based on business value, regulatory deadlines, and risk.
  • Lead product discovery and current-state assessments to identify process gaps, control weaknesses, operational risks, and opportunities for automation and scalability.
  • Drive the design and enhancement of product capabilities related to:
  • Withholding calculation methodologies
  • Tax lot accounting
  • Tax reporting workflows and downstream integrations
  • Data controls, reconciliations, and exception management
  • Partner with engineering and architecture teams to ensure product solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Establish success metrics, monitor product performance, and track outcomes related to accuracy, compliance, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
  • Support end-to-end delivery, including requirements clarification, dependency management, stakeholder alignment, testing support, implementation planning, and post-release validation.
  • Lead and manage the onboarding of new clients onto tax withholding platform, including client-specific setup and configuration, requirements gathering, data mapping and validation, test planning and execution, issue resolution, and production readiness.
  • Coordinate the conversion and migration of required client data, including account, tax, security, position, and reference data, ensuring data integrity, reconciliation, and readiness for production processing.
  • Lead or support UAT, defect triage, release readiness, and production issue resolution for withholding and tax reporting enhancements.
  • Oversee product governance, documentation, and control frameworks to support audit readiness, regulatory reviews, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Communicate roadmap updates, risks, issues, and delivery progress to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Stay current on industry and regulatory developments affecting withholding, tax reporting, and securities processing, and proactively incorporate needed changes into the product roadmap.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or product delivery within financial services, brokerage, wealth management, asset servicing, or tax operations.
  • Strong experience owning or supporting products related to tax withholding, tax reporting, securities processing, or post-trade operations.
  • Deep knowledge of withholding processing, tax lot accounting, and tax reporting requirements.
  • Direct experience with tax and regulatory requirements impacting withholding and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of broker-dealer operations, post-trade processing, custody, and securities lifecycle events.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into product solutions and technology deliverables.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, priorities, requirements, and cross-functional delivery in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with reconciliations, root cause analysis, impact assessments, and exception management.
  • Experience supporting testing, defect management, release planning, and production support for complex financial systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and onboarding new clients for tax withholding platforms, including client setup/configuration, requirements gathering, testing, data conversion/migration, validation, and implementation.
  • Experience coordinating client implementations from initial setup through testing, conversion, go-live, and post-production stabilization, working across business, operations, technology, and client-facing teams.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, SQL, Visio, or similar product and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical teams, control partners, and business leadership.
  • Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven, highly regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of complex multi-level intermediary structures and flow-through entities, including the associated tax withholding, tax calculation, allocation, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with brokerage back-office systems, withholding engines, or tax reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of DTCC processing, corporate actions, securities reference data, and position/account master data dependencies.
  • Experience with regulatory change management, audit support, and control framework design.
  • Professional certifications such as CSPO, CBAP, PMP, CPA, or CFA.
  • Experience leading product initiatives within enterprise transformation, platform modernization, or operational risk reduction programs.

Hourly range $75-85/hr
