Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.
We are seeking a Product Manager with a passion for AI-powered conversational experiences and a track record of building intelligent, scalable SaaS products. This role will focus on driving the vision, strategy, and execution of Rovo Chat, Atlassian's AI-driven conversational interface that helps teams discover knowledge, take action, and work smarter across their entire digital workplace.
You will be part of the Central AI team and will play an important role in shaping how millions of users interact with AI across Atlassian's product suite. Your core responsibilities will be as follows:
  1. Strategic Vision and Roadmap
    • Contribute to and execute the product vision and roadmap for Rovo Chat, aligning with Atlassian's AI strategy and user needs.
    • Identify and prioritize opportunities to grow Chat adoption and engagement (MAU), balancing user value with measurable business outcomes.
  2. Conversational AI Experiences
    • Drive the development of intelligent chat experiences that connect users to knowledge across first-party (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and third-party (Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, Salesforce, etc.) sources.
    • Advance multi-turn conversation quality, context awareness, memory, and proactive assistance.
  3. Cross-Functional Execution
    • Partner with engineering, design, data science, GTM, and enterprise teams to deliver features from ideation through launch and iteration.
    • Operate with program-level rigor: run shiprooms, manage action items, and hold teams accountable to deadlines and quality bars.
  4. Quality, Trust, and Measurement
    • Define and monitor success metrics for Chat quality (accuracy, groundedness, user satisfaction) and adoption.
    • Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring safe, transparent, and inclusive conversational experiences.

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. We follow consistent hiring practices and account for each candidate's skills, knowledge, and experience when setting base pay within the range.
Please visit go.atlassian.com/payzones for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. However, please confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
In The United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $144,900 - $189,175
Zone B: $130,410 - $170,258
Zone C: $120,267 - $157,015
  • 3-5 years as a Product Manager or in a similar role, with exposure to AI/ML-powered products, conversational systems, or search experiences.
  • Uses AI tools daily as a working method, not a novelty. Can prompt, iterate, and evaluate AI outputs to draft specs, analyze data, synthesize research, create prototypes, and unblock decisions without waiting for someone else to set it up. Treats AI as a first instinct, not a fallback.
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and conversational systems. Comfortable collaborating with data scientists and engineers on technical approaches.
  • Experience building and scaling SaaS products, ideally in collaboration, productivity, or developer tooling domains.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, able to work effectively across customers, engineering, design, and leadership.
  • Skilled at gathering, prioritizing, and translating customer and business requirements into product strategies.
