Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
The Content and Business Products team builds technology to scale Netflix's content operations from concept to streaming. We create systems and services that enable teams worldwide to plan, produce, distribute, and promote our titles. This role sits within the Content Foundations team, which creates both end-user applications and developer platforms that ensure reliable data and efficient workflows across our content lifecycle.
We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to drive the strategy and evolution of our application development platforms. Your goal is to reduce cognitive load for engineers by abstracting infrastructure complexity and integrating AI-native capabilities into our foundational systems. You will partner closely with engineering to simplify the software development lifecycle, transforming disparate tools into a seamless 'paved road' that accelerates innovation. This is a rare opportunity to build at the intersection of massive scale and developer experience, directly impacting how content is created, managed, and delivered to hundreds of millions of members worldwide.
What You Will Do
Define Platform Strategy: Drive the long-term vision and roadmap for foundational application platforms, balancing immediate engineering needs with long-term architectural shifts (e.g., integrating AI-driven development workflows).
Simplify Developer Experience: Identify and eliminate friction points for Netflix engineers. Deliver cohesive managed runtimes and developer solutions that enable teams to build complex, stateful applications without managing underlying infrastructure.
Champion a "no-ops" mindset where platform tooling abstracts operational complexity.
Accelerate Adoption: Partner with engineering leaders across Content and Studio teams to drive migration from legacy systems to modern platforms
Measure Success: Define and track metrics related to platform reliability, and adoption, ensuring our investments deliver measurable improvements in engineering productivity.
Evangelize the Platform: Act as the primary advocate for the application developer platform. Author strategy memos and represent the team's work to senior leadership.
What We’re Looking For
7+ years in Product Management building and scaling technical developer platforms, or workflow automation tools
Deep technical fluency in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with the ability to debate architectural trade-offs with engineering leads
Developer-Centric Mindset: You view internal platforms as products that must delight their users. You understand the high cost of context switching and are dedicated to removing friction from engineering development
Strategic Thinking: Ability to Connect technical platform capabilities to broader business goals
High AI Literacy: Experience launching or integrating AI-enabled developer tools (e.g., coding assistants, AI agents) or leveraging AI to optimize workflow automation.
Influence without authority: Proven ability to align cross-functional teams and drive organization-wide change management and platform adoption.
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
