Job DescriptionHow will you make a difference?
The Product Management Lead for Automation is responsible for driving the overall growth objectives for the Train Performance & Automation (TP&A) business within Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence portfolio. This executive leads the development and execution of product & service strategy, including the definition of the Multi-Generation Product Plan (MGPP), product roadmap, and related service models. The role oversees the commercialization process, encompassing pricing strategy, value proposition, competitive positioning, advanced technologies, and go-to-market models. Key responsibilities include leading the annual strategic planning process, collaborating with cross-functional leaders to set objectives and revenue targets, and identifying new business and partnership opportunities to achieve growth and sales goals.
What will your typical day look like?
- Achieve Train Performance & Automation (TP&A) growth targets and optimize the business portfolio by improving or divesting underperforming assets
- Develop and implement product strategy, MGPP, and product roadmap
- Lead the annual customer user conference
- Own the commercialization process, including pricing, value proposition, and competitive positioning
- Create and execute programs to identify, launch, and optimize revenue opportunities in partnership with Marketing and Commercial teams
- Oversee content licensing, business development, and strategic partnerships; evaluate and negotiate complex deals, advising senior executives
- Manage M&A activities, including target identification, due diligence, negotiation, and closing, and determine buy/partner strategies
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements
- Build and lead a collaborative, high-performing team, supporting professional growth and development
- Implement product management training and best practices
- Foster cross-business unit collaboration to enhance scale and outcomes
- Develop and deliver strategic presentations and progress reviews to senior leaders and customers
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends and opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including acquisition targets, partners, and industry experts
- Provide leadership and guidance to the M&A and business development teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior leadership and the board of directors
Qualifications
What do we want to know about you?
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading digital product portfolios, preferably in an industrial environment
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Proven history with business development or corporate strategy
- Demonstrated success in revenue-driving partnerships, creative deal-making, and relationship management
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities
- Strategic thinker with robust business acumen
- Distinguished executive presence and professionalism, with experience engaging senior and technical customers
- High integrity and ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
- Experience in the transportation sector and proficiency in financial analysis and valuation techniques preferred and valuation techniques.
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $161300-229800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com.
