About GameChanger:
We believe in the life changing impact youth sports have on and off the field. Sports encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and confidence – important life lessons that have the power to propel our youth toward meaningful futures. We recognize that without coaches, parents, and volunteers, organized youth sports could not exist. By building the first and best place to experience the youth sports moments important to our community, we are helping families elevate the next generation through youth sports.
So if you love sports and their community building potential, or building cool products is your sport, GameChanger is the team for you. We are a remote first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and we are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today.
The Position:
As a Product Designer at GameChanger, you'll shape meaningful experiences for coaches, players, families, and fans in the youth sports space. You will report to the Product Design Manager and sit on a team focused on solutions for coaches and communities looking to elevate their teams and business outcomes that drive growth. You bring a strong product mindset and an interest in turning data into simple, useful, and engaging mobile and web experiences. This role is hands-on and requires someone who can take a project from discovery to launch to iteration, working closely with cross-functional partners in Product and Engineering. Success is someone who can think critically, design with intent, and care about shipping work that's both intuitive for users and aligned with business goals.
What You'll Do:
Lead the end-to-end design process and ship experiences across mobile and web platforms.
Work cross-functionally with our product and engineering partners, facilitate design discussions, and ensure design quality.
Work iteratively to define problems and quickly find solutions.
Speak with customers frequently, collect insights, test assumptions, and translate research takeaways into meaningful outcomes.
Craft intuitive design flows, sketches, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI for mobile and web.
Help evolve and grow the design practice at GameChanger. Contribute to our design system, be vocal in design critiques, share inspirational resources, and aid in brainstorms.
Question the status quo and advocate for change.
Who You Are:
You have knowledge and an interest in sports.
You have 3+ years designing user-focused native mobile products
You've designed and shipped native iOS and Android apps that are in the hands of users.
Your portfolio isn't just high-fidelity mockups; it showcases impact, processes, sketches, collaboration, and reflection. You have at least two detailed case studies.
You've taken large problems from zero to launch and iterating based on real-world feedback and data.
You have experience conducting user research without relying on a dedicated research team, facilitating user interviews and user tests, digging through behavioral data, and summarizing findings to identify trends and make recommendations.
You communicate the “why” behind design decisions to partners across product, engineering, and leadership.
You're data-oriented and always looking to improve the user experience.
You take the time to seek out and provide meaningful feedback because you know it's the best way to grow.
You're collaborative and motivated by team wins over individual credit.
