As a Product Designer on Bonterra’s Case Management team, you’ll lead user experience design work across three dedicated teams—bringing structure, clarity, and creativity to complex challenges. Reporting to the Director of Product Design and UX Research, you’ll collaborate across disciplines, contribute meaningfully to product direction, and turn user insights into accessible, scalable experiences that make case management easier and more effective.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end design work for product features, from initial research and concepts, through polished execution.

  • Translate product goals and user needs into design solutions using flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.

  • Break down complex design problems into simple, elegant, and actionable experiences.

  • Contribute to product road mapping by advocating for user needs and shaping scope through design-led discovery.

  • Partner closely with engineers and product managers to align vision, feasibility, and delivery timelines.

  • Use research, usability testing, and performance data to validate your work and iterate with confidence.

  • Build and extend our pattern library, while working across multiple design systems.

  • You’re excited about the prospect of designing and building AI-powered solutions that enhance product experiences and unlock new capabilities for our users.

  • Bring deep empathy for users with a wide range of technical literacy and comfort.

Who You Are:

You’re a thoughtful and self-driven designer who can confidently own a problem space, guide a design process, and collaborate with cross-functional peers to deliver great work. You’re energized by mission, curious about your users, and committed to accessibility, craft, and continuous improvement.

  • You bring 1-3 years of experience designing interactive digital products, ideally within SaaS or nonprofit tooling.

  • You can independently lead design projects within a team, while contributing to shared direction and systems.

  • You communicate your thinking clearly and invite feedback from diverse stakeholders.

  • You’re confident using Figma for everything from exploration to polished mockups, and familiar with working in a design system.

  • You know how to frame design decisions using research, user feedback, and data—and you iterate quickly.

  • You’re eager to explore and work with emerging tools—such as ChatGPT, V0, and Lovable—to enhance your workflow, support rapid iteration, and collaborate more effectively with engineering and product teams to bring ideas to life.

  • You care deeply about usability, accessibility, and inclusive design—and are driven by creating systems that deliver real, meaningful impact for diverse users in the real world.

  • Nice to have: Experience working with nonprofits, government agencies providing human services, medical or heavily-regulated SaaS environments.
