About the team

Beautiful.ai is changing the way the world presents by building fast, foolproof tools that enable anyone to tell visual stories that win. The Beautiful.ai team is a playful, driven, and passionate group of pet-lovers, video-gamers, and pickleball enthusiasts. With a globally-distributed remote team and a San Francisco-based office, we find unique opportunities to get to know each other personally, while delivering on our goals. Data-driven decision making and an outcomes-focused mindset are core to our way of working.

Today, Beautiful.ai equips 100,000+ happy paying customers, from start-ups to multinational Fortune 500 corporations, with a leading presentation software solution. Companies like SAP, HP, Rakuten, LIV Golf and more trust Beautiful.ai to tell their stories. We are a Series B company and have raised capital from prominent investors including Shasta Ventures, Trinity Ventures and First Round Capital and are led by our CTO/Founder, Mitch Grasso, who is a second-time founder in the presentation space.

Please Note: While this role is fully remote, it will require working within a PST timezone expectation. Candidates residing in PST time zone will be strongly preferred for this role.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Product and Growth, you will drive the quality of our user experience by designing and improving UI and UX patterns for product features. You will also take ownership of Smart Slides, defining and creating new templates that shape the millions of presentations made with Beautiful.ai. Additionally, you will establish dedicated thought leadership around product UX and design. Your work will balance structured UI problem-solving with exploratory and conceptual design efforts.

We are looking for a strong individual contributor who can both execute high-quality UI design and contribute to broader UX strategy. You’ll work closely with Product Managers and Engineers, ensuring seamless implementation while also exploring new creative possibilities. This role requires a blend of technical UI expertise, problem-solving, and an eye for visual storytelling.

Check out our design principles here.

What you’ll do

  • UI Design & Execution: You will be responsible for designing intuitive and delightful UI for new and existing product features. Your designs will be precise, well-aligned, and thoughtfully structured to minimize engineering rework.
  • Smart Slides Development: You will own Smart Slides, distilling complex ideas into scalable, visually compelling slide templates that balance both creativity and usability.
  • Attention to Detail & Problem Solving: You will work on highly detailed UI elements, ensuring precision in design components like buttons, fields, and layout alignment. A significant portion of this role involves assembling UI elements rather than completely redesigning them.
  • Conceptual & Exploratory Work: Roughly 30% of your time will be spent on undefined, creative projects such as designing themes or exploring new methods of improving our product design.
  • Collaboration with Engineering & Product: You will take ownership of design tasks, communicate effectively with the engineering team, and ensure your work is aligned with broader product objectives.
  • User-Centered Design Approach: You will conduct user interviews, refine personas, and advocate for the strongest UX solutions to enhance customer experiences.
  • Project Ownership & Execution: While not expected to self-manage product roadmaps, you will independently own design deliverables such as creating new themes, contributing to tickets, and ensuring seamless execution.
  • Maintain & Evolve Design Systems: You will refine and expand our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability as we grow.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in UI and UX design, preferably in SaaS.
  • Expertise in Figma, prototyping, and motion graphics tools
  • Strong visual design skills with experience in professional slide design.
  • Ability to work efficiently, handle pivots, and take feedback well.
  • A problem-solving mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance independent work with structured execution
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with sharing and collaboration features in SaaS products.
  • Background in auditing UI details and refining endpoints.
  • Familiarity with Edward Tufte’s work.
  • Ability to code is a plus.

Benefits

  • Flexible vacation policy and a fully remote work policy
  • 100% Medical/Dental/Vision insurance covered for the employee / 60%-65% covered for dependents
  • Comprehensive 401K program
  • FSA and Commuter Benefits
  • Competitive Equity with a 4-year vesting schedule
  • Life / AD&D and Disability Coverage
  • Parental leave for birthing or non-birthing parents (specific to each state) / 60% coverage under company secondary insurance for birthing parent

We are happy to share the set target salary range for the seniority level outlined in all of our job descriptions. Candidates should keep in mind that the final offer will depend on multiple factors such as: your valuable experience and expertise, geographic location, overall compensation, and prevailing market rates.
