The Design Opportunity
Design at Luxury Presence is core to our mission: to empower real estate entrepreneurs with elegant, user-centered tools. We believe great design starts with understanding — of the customer, the problem, and the context. Our best work is driven by curiosity about how people think, what they need, and where their current tools fall short.
We value usability not as a feature, but as a baseline expectation. At the same time, we hold a high bar for visual quality, celebrating simplicity, consistency, and purposeful design.
The Design Manager role is a new position for our team — a player-coach who balances hands-on product design with people leadership. This is ideal for a senior-level designer who wants to continue shaping product experiences while also guiding and developing a small team of designers.
About the Role
As a Design Manager, you’ll blend hands-on design with people leadership. You’ll own product experiences end-to-end in a defined area while also guiding a small group of designers to do their best work. Some weeks you’ll be deep in Figma, shaping flows and collaborating with PMs and engineers; other weeks, your focus will lean toward coaching, feedback, and team development.
In this role, you’ll ensure both impactful design outcomes and a thriving design team. You’ll provide clarity, feedback, and growth opportunities for your reports, while continuing to set a high bar for usability, craft, and product thinking through your own design contributions.
What You’ll Be Doing
Design Leadership (player role):
- Lead end-to-end design work: framing problems, exploring solutions, and delivering polished, dev-ready experiences.
- Stay deeply connected to users through research, testing, and discovery.
- Translate insights into clear, usable, and delightful designs that account for multiple states, edge cases, and accessibility.
- Collaborate closely with PM and Engineering partners to define problems and identify the right solutions.
- Contribute to our design system and help evolve shared patterns and standards.
People Leadership (coach role):
- Manage and support a small group of product designers, providing regular feedback, coaching, and career development.
- Run effective 1:1s, set growth goals, and help designers stretch their craft and impact.
- Create an environment of trust, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Facilitate critique sessions and ensure high-quality design outcomes across the team.
- Partner with Design leadership to shape hiring, onboarding, and team culture.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with at least 1–2 years of mentoring or team leadership.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong UX thinking, high-quality craft, and real user impact.
- Experience designing and shipping digital products in cross-functional teams.
- Clear, confident communication of design decisions, user needs, and tradeoffs.
- Comfort balancing hands-on design work with people leadership responsibilities.
- Curiosity, empathy, and a drive to improve user outcomes through design.
- Proficiency in Figma and fluency with modern design system practices.
