We’re Spark, a mission-driven company helping independent Medicare brokers build the insurance business of their dreams. The vast majority of beneficiaries select benefits with the help of an independent broker, but technology and support for brokers is woefully antiquated. We provide workflows and services to help brokers achieve transformative growth.
In just five years, we’ve partnered with over 6,000 brokers and enrolled over 140,000 beneficiaries, making us the fastest-growing Medicare brokerage in the country. Brokers love us: during this period of intense growth, we’ve maintained an NPS of 91 and a client retention rate of 93%, and we’ve helped brokers grow on average >100% since partnering with us.
It’s an exciting time to be at Spark. Our diverse, remote-first team comes from leading technology, healthcare, and insurance companies, and has grown from 70 to 90 in the last year. Most recently, we’ve raised a Series B from leading investors who share our ambition.
Join us: we’re always on the lookout for sharp, talented, empathetic teammates.
At Spark, our mission is to be the trusted advocate for the 70 million Medicare beneficiaries navigating the U.S. healthcare system.
We’re seeking a Product Design Lead to help us turn complex data into meaningful user action. You’ll design experiences that surface insights, guide users to the right next step, and ultimately drive better outcomes for the agents and agencies serving Medicare beneficiaries.
The ideal candidate has experience in data-rich environments such as B2B SaaS, internal tools, or complex operational workflows. You know how to simplify complexity without losing nuance, and you bring strong UX fundamentals, a collaborative mindset, and a talent for turning insight into impact.
What you’ll do- Translate complex datasets and reporting into clear, intuitive workflows, visualizations, and controls that drive measurable behavior change
- Design interaction flows and UI components that help brokers and agency leaders take effective action on key data, like production trends, contracting gaps, or commission issues.
- Conduct user research (discovery interviews, usability tests) and use those findings to shape design decisions and validate UX patterns
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data to ship features across the full product lifecycle (from prototypes through post-launch data‑driven iteration)
- Develop and evolve Spark’s design system, contributing scalable, reusable data components, interaction patterns, and documentation
- Define and refine information architecture and navigation flows to reduce cognitive load and improve user decision-making
- Champion design excellence and help mentor future designers as our team grows
- 8+ years designing web‑based B2B SaaS or internal tools with emphasis on complex workflows and data-rich interfaces
- Demonstrated impact through data-driven design through portfolio projects showing how you validated behavior change via metrics, experimentation, or iterative UX research
- Experience leading or contributing to a design system, including components, tokens, documentation, and IA guidelines
- Deep understanding of information architecture, hierarchical patterns, and how to structure data-heavy experiences for clarity
- Strong UX fundamentals and systems thinking
- Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating design rationale grounded in user and business insight
- Bonus: experience in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries
