The Product Analyst will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and analytics frameworks that drive audience engagement and revenue optimization across our digital media landscape. You will be responsible for end-to-end data workflows—ranging from data ingestion and transformation to visualization and storytelling. You will advocate for best practices, version control, and clear documentation, ensuring that our data processes are reliable, transparent, and scalable. Your work will have a direct impact on the evolution of our digital offerings, helping to inform data-driven decisions that improve our audience experiences and empower local newsrooms nationwide.The Product Analyst is highly technical, detail-oriented, and possesses a natural tendency toward analytical thinking and problem-solving.

What you will do:

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to capture audience engagement and revenue data from multiple sources (e.g., Google Analytics, internal systems, APIs)

  • Implement data transformations and validations to ensure data quality and reliability

  • Develop and maintain intuitive, scalable reporting and dashboards in business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Looker Studio

  • Optimize the existing reporting structure and back-end code to improve performance and data fidelity

  • Optimize SQL queries, manage database schemas, and implement data modeling best practices

  • Provide technical expertise on big data technologies, cloud-based data warehousing, and analytics tool integrations as needed

  • Perform advanced analyses to identify trends, correlations, and opportunities within large, complex datasets

  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Work within an Agile framework, participating in Agile ceremonies to deliver iterative improvements

  • Utilize GitHub or similar version control systems to collaborate with team members, track changes, and maintain code quality

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, analytics workflows, and code repositories

  • Ensure clarity and best practices for cross-team knowledge sharing and handoffs

What you will bring:

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL (writing queries, optimizing performance, working with relational databases, etc.)

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and automation

  • Familiarity with data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, or similar) and concepts of data orchestration

  • Proficiency with Tableau, Looker Studio, Power BI, or similar tools

  • Experience with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics; Google Analytics certifications and Data Analytics certifications are a plus

  • Familiarity with statistical concepts and experimental methods is a plus

  • Ability to design and execute complex analytical projects, interpret results, and convey actionable insights to stakeholders

  • Proven ability to solve complex problems efficiently and creatively while meeting deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill technical concepts for non-technical audiences

  • Team player with solid interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across functional groups in a fast-paced, Agile environment

  • Ability to handle multiple ongoing tasks, manage priorities, and work independently to ensure on-time delivery

  • Familiarity with GitHub (or similar) and best practices for branching, pull requests, and code reviews

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered

  • 3 years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence role (or relevant training/portfolio) preferred

Benefits and Compensation:

The salary is $80,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
