Job Position Description: 

As the #1 station in the market, we have a winning culture and we’re looking for people who want to join a highly motivated and talented team.  We’re a fast-paced newsroom emphasizing investigative reporting and breaking news and weather coverage. The successful candidate will be able to identify the "big story" of the day and understand what makes an impactful newscast with a focus on strong writing and showcasing skills.  While this position will focus on producing live TV newscasts, there will also be opportunity to create content for our digital platforms. 

Required qualifications:

-Prior experience producing TV newscasts

-Strong broadcast and digital writing skills

-Attention to detail

-Ability to work in a high pressure environment with staff of all levels

-Must lead by example at all times

-Bachelor’s degree in journalism or mass communications

-Ability to occasionally shift schedule on short notice

Annual Salary Range:  

$41,000 to $43,000; based on experience. Non-Exempt.

KRDO13 is in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, near the base of Pikes Peak, along the front range of the Rocky Mountains, and close to Garden of the Gods. Colorado Springs is often rated as one of the country’s best cities to live in. It is a big city with a small-town feel, with Castle Rock and Denver within an hour’s drive.
