Producer, On with Kara Swisher (Temporary)

The Vox Media Podcast Network is seeking a temporary Producer for its award-winning show, On with Kara Swisher. This podcast reaches a large, influential audience and regularly features headline-making guests across politics, tech, and culture, including Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg, Sam Altman, Geoffrey Hinton, Bill Gates, Margaret Atwood, Laverne Cox, and Louis Theroux.

This is a temporary backfill role covering parental leave and is expected to last approximately 20 weeks.

We’re looking for someone who is highly organized, editorially sharp, and an excellent communicator. The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator and pragmatic problem solver who enjoys working as part of a team and brings curiosity, flexibility, and a positive attitude to the job.

In this role, you’ll help manage many of the show’s day-to-day operations, from sourcing equipment for guests and booking studio time to creating contracts for freelancers. You should also be comfortable contributing across multiple aspects of show production, like research, booking guests, running Riverside sessions, editing rough cuts of audio files in ProTools, fact-checking, and selecting/posting clips on social media.

Because the show is highly responsive to the news cycle, some assignments may extend into evenings or weekends. Flexibility is an important part of the workflow.

• You have 3+ years of experience working in news
• You have a strong interest in our core coverage areas: tech, politics, business, and culture
• You are calm, reliable, and responsive under pressure, and able to pivot quickly as news breaks

This job is remote.
