At Chewy, we strive to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners - vets and service providers - alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That's why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our committed pet lovers.
We are seeking a motivated Procurement Manager I to support sourcing, supplier management, and contracting activities across indirect spend categories: Legal, Brand Merchandise & Promotional Products, Operational Supplies, and Tech. You will help maintain supplier performance, identify cost savings opportunities through data analysis and benchmarking, and partner with cross-functional teams and Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and sourcing decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and operate within established procurement frameworks.
What You'll Do:
  • Develop and execute sub-category sourcing strategies, supporting a pipeline of contracts and renewals for small to medium size purchases.
  • Lead and/or support sourcing activities for small to medium scale deals, including RFx execution, supplier evaluation, and award recommendations.
  • Support negotiation and execution of contracts for small to medium engagements, including pricing, terms, and service levels, in partnership with senior team members as needed.

  • Build and maintain basic pricing models and cost comparisons using templates and standard tools to support fact-based negotiations.
  • Partner with Finance to provide inputs into budgeting and forecasting, aligning on cost drivers, pricing changes, and negotiation strategies.
  • Interact with suppliers to request quotes, confirm lead times, and manage day-to-day procurement activities, escalating risks or issues as appropriate.
  • Manage transactional supplier relationships for assigned categories, monitoring performance, pricing changes, and supply risks.
  • Support supplier performance management, including contributing to light-touch business reviews and tracking basic service level metrics.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing routine updates and supporting procurement execution across the sourcing lifecycle.
  • Translate basic data and analysis into clear insights to support decision-making and sourcing recommendations.
  • Apply procurement processes and tools consistently, exercising judgment within defined guidelines and escalating when needed.
  • Travel domestically as needed.

What You'll Need:
  • Minimum of 2 years procurement experience and knowledge of procurement methodologies, tools, and practices.
  • Foundational understanding of procurement or sourcing processes, with exposure to RFx events, supplier interactions, or contract basics.
  • Ability to support negotiations and supplier discussions for small to medium purchases, with guidance as needed.
  • Demonstrate expertise in negotiating technology deals (software, hardware, SaaS, etc...).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data, perform basic comparisons, and identify pricing or cost trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools; comfortable working with spreadsheets, templates, and data sets.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Willingness to learn procurement practices, supplier management, and contract fundamentals in a fast-paced environment.
  • BA/BS required; focus in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.

Bonus:
  • Experience in the supply chain or procurement industry.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • Understanding of sourcing processes, supplier lifecycle management, and category strategy.
  • Comfort working in a pet-friendly environment.

The base salary range for this role is $91,500 - $146,000.00.
