Your Opportunity as the Process Engineer
Leverage your engineering skills to drive business results while supporting our sandwich making department within our Longmont facility, where we make some of the most beloved Smucker products, Uncrustables! Location: Longmont, CO
Work Arrangements: 100% onsite, day shift M-F (flexibility to work off-shifts or weekends as needed)
In this role you will:

Enhance overall safety, quality, and productivity in the Sandwich Making area by eliminating defects, identifying, and executing loss saving initiatives, and building capability in the operating teams

Drive high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant

Develop an expert level understanding of the manufacturing process, mechanics, instrumentation, and product specifications of your designated line/area; provide technical support to the line/area teams

Coach operating teams and leadership to root cause identification and elimination of losses

Address gaps in line/area performance through the implementation and effective coaching of Smucker Continuous Improvement methodologies; foster a zero-loss culture

Own a safety and/or quality key element

Maintain and improve technical and training documentation for the line/area

Active participation in training and qualification programs for designated line/area; participate in assessments, ensure effective training, and maintain consistent qualification standards

Responsible for reliability and quality data for designated line/area in Proficy plant applications software, including improving methods for collecting accurate data

Organize and prioritize initiatives to help meet department master plan and plant long-term vision

Manage capital projects and expenditures; may lead multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously

Owner of the Commissioning, Qualification and Verification (CQV) process for new projects

Employ effective interpersonal time and resource management skills to complete projects assignments

Help organization stay current with applicable new technologies/ingredients
Colorado Specific Salary Range
76,000 - 108,900
This role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan bonus

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)

2+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
-
Ability to effectively engage, lead, and build capability on the production floor
-
Ability to work and influence within a cross functional team environment
-
Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills
-
Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervision
-
Understands manufacturing automation systems and terminology
-
Familiarity with PLC’s, HMIs, instrumentation, and electrical schematics (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell software suite preferred)

Proven project management skills and technical problem-solving capability
-
Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
-
Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
-
Open to managing operating teams as needed (as backup or future assignment)

Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed

Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
