Job Title

Process Engineer IIResponsible for design, development, and implementation of manufacturing solutions for medium to large projects impacting multiple departments or entire facility. Operate with limited supervision, manage technical assignments with greater complexity, engage in customer interactions. Provide recommendations for and implement solutions for process/product improvement, quality control, and customer service.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Limited supervision, increased ownership.
• Product costing & technical review for repeat items, revision changes, and new items with similar design (NPI levels 1-3 ). Support for new items with new design that fit existing capabilities (NPI 4).
• Develop and review customer approval drawings.
• Support commercial customer interactions.
• Support and manage prototyping efforts including hands on creation and evaluation.
• Set up and update BOM and routings. Validate and maintain BOM and routings. Participate in and/or perform process and product audits.
• Develop, update, and review production drawings.
• Develop and review tooling design.
• CAM tooling path set up or update. Identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead and support projects such as scrap and productivity, EHS, New Product Introduction, and escalations.
• Manage Change Control.
• Support operators and gather production feedback.
• Utilize process control systems (PCS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) to effectively maintain and improve product and process quality.
• Support cost controls and develop tools such as dashboards.
• Build subject matter expertise on processing techniques and materials.
• May judge and handle suspect or abnormal product/process.
• Provide assistance and guidance to lower level engineers.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field and/or 4 years of experience in similar discipline.
Experience:
• 4-8 Years
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Analytical/Critical Thinking - Analyze data to identify root causes, develop strategies for routine issues, recommend process improvements, and evaluate solutions with flexibility and critical thinking.
• Building Relationships - Recognize others meaningfully and frequently, use feedback to build confidence and respect, adapt communication to workplace styles, and actively participate in team-building activities.
• Communication - Communicate using empathy, influence, and an adaptive approach to accurately and persuasively create dialogue.
• Data Analysis - Independently design and conduct data analysis using advanced techniques, automation, and benchmarking to identify trends, anticipate risks, and influence stakeholders through data storytelling.
• Manufacturing Knowledge - Apply strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining techniques, and associated tooling/fixture design.
• Materials Knowledge - May need a general understanding of materials and characteristics including material formulations and shrink rates for manufacturing product lines.
• Mathematical Reasoning - Understand and apply complex mathematical concepts, including geometry and trigonometry, work with various 2D and 3D coordinate systems, apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing requirements, and write and troubleshoot simple formulas in Excel or similar software.
• Project Management - Lead projects through all phases, from initiation to closing, by defining scope, planning resources, managing teams, ensuring effective communication, and documenting progress and results.
• Technology Use - Independently operate common technology platforms (e.g., CAD, SPC), submit technology requests to the service center, and use job aids and help documentation to resolve issues.
• Time Management - Determine task priorities, avoid multitasking and procrastination, understand appropriate time allocation for tasks, set boundaries to prevent overwork, and eliminate unproductive tasks.
