Job Description
Team & Role:
The Unified Technology Program Management Office (PMO) delivers cross-functional programs across the company's most critical and complex functions - Product and Platform Release Management, Release Big Rocks, Platform Engineering, Global Cloud Infrastructure, Regulated Markets, Cloud Security, M&A, and other critical strategic programs.
As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will manage large, complex release programs from start to finish. You will provide a proactive, strategic perspective on process improvements and a tactical view of daily progress and issues. Your primary focus will be engineering, but your responsibilities will include cross-functional coordination. Each day you will exercise critical skills such as conflict resolution, cross-team collaboration, and asking and answering questions with precision.
You'll work in a fast-paced environment to bring your programs to life and see them through to successful completion, cultivating collaboration and driving business outcomes. You'll think strategically while driving tactical execution of large cross-organizational programs, from initial conception, through program development, delivery, and transition to operations. The successful candidate is a result-oriented, self-starter with an established, documented competence in engineering program management and operations.

  • Drive large, complex cross-functional technical initiatives to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments
  • Organize complex, ambiguous problems into prioritized milestones, deliverables, and success criteria for your programs
  • Translate business needs into implementation plans by driving a cross-functional team to identify and align on solutions, delivery dependencies, and schedule
  • Develop and manage the overall prioritization, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Identify and manage external dependencies and logistics; identify and mitigate risks throughout the schedule
  • Host and facilitate executive-level meetings as well as large cross-functional program meetings
  • Simplify complex issues into crisp, actionable executive-level status updates and mitigation plans
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the project team
  • Exercise key skills such as conflict resolution, cross-team collaboration, as well as asking and answering questions with precision
  • Be a change agent and embody the continuous improvement philosophy to influence processes, methodologies, and business agility
  • Actively engage in Program Management Community of Practice and help document and establish standards and better practices


Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you have:

  • Proven project/program management experience involving many cross-functional teams
  • Superior organizational skills with high regard for quality
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills - able to work well with many different types of personalities in various functions. Masterful in the art of bringing people together
  • Excellent communication skills - Ability to communicate, document, and present complex technical issues in a concise and efficient manner for a variety of audiences
  • Experienced and confident in creating slides and presenting to executives
  • Must possess effective listening skills and comfortable asking powerful questions
  • Passion for working with people in technical environments
  • Strong leadership skills to influence and motivate without authority. True servant leader
  • Strong facilitation skills to lead/drive a variety of program events
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills


Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years of program management experience in software development organizations
  • BA/BS degree or higher in Business Management, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Operations and Information Management (OIM), or other equivalent combination of education and experience.

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $186,600 - $326,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location. For individuals who will be working in the Bay Area, there is a pay enhancement for positions located in that geographical area; please contact your recruiter for additional information.
