We’re a high-growth software company with a big mission: empowering K-12 district teams to do more with less.
At LINQ, we get K12. That’s why we help districts transform K-12 school operations with best-in-class, cloud-based software solutions built to help districts return more resources to classrooms. Integrating finance, HR, nutrition management, and payments into a single, secure platform, LINQ reduces administrative burden. LINQ is trusted by 30% of school districts across the U.S. to help them operate more efficiently and serve over 1 billion meals to 17 million students annually, process payroll for 364,000 educators, administrators, and staff, and engage with millions of families through the free LINQ Connect app.
Our team? They’re talented, committed, and fiercely loyal problem-solvers. At LINQ, you’ll find challenging and meaningful work, a team that respects and uplifts one another, and a commitment to constant improvement. Our customers love us because we’re attentive, patient, communicative, and solutions focused. They know they can count on us to not only anticipate their needs but to deliver the right answer every time.
Why This Role Exists
We’re rapidly integrating AI into our operations to help us fulfill our mission to help every K12 child thrive. We’re adding an operational owner to further accelerate our progress: someone who embeds with teams, figures out where AI can have a meaningful impact, and builds things that stick. You’ll be working with active internal programs, a growing set of working tools, and leadership that’s genuinely committed.
This isn’t a research or strategy role. You’ll be expected to ship things, measure whether they worked, and iterate.
What You’ll Own
Hands-On Enablement (50%)
- Embed directly with teams across go-to-market, Engineering, Product, Operations, Finance, and Customer Experience to identify high-value AI use cases and unblock adoption
- Design, prototype, and ship internal AI workflows and tools (prompt libraries, automation scripts, internal apps) that solve real problems – both directly and by enabling teams to become self sufficient
- Evaluate and recommend AI tooling—LLMs, copilots, automation platforms—with a bias toward practical deployment over proof-of-concept theater
- Build reusable playbooks, templates, and reference implementations that teams can adopt independently
- Establish measurement frameworks to track adoption, productivity impact, and ROI
AI Initiative Ownership (20%)
- Own select AI-driven initiatives end-to-end, from scoping through delivery.
- Drive vendor evaluation, stakeholder alignment, implementation planning, and rollout for assigned initiatives
- Coordinate across Product, Engineering, Customer Experience, and external vendors to hit milestones and manage dependencies
- Define success metrics and own post-launch adoption and iteration
Evangelism & Change Management (20%)
- Drive awareness, excitement, and fluency around AI across the organization
- Run workshops, office hours, and enablement sessions tailored to different audiences (engineers, PMs, operations staff, leadership)
- Co-own and evolve existing programs: The Vanguard (AI champions network), The Forge (internal hackathon series), and LINQ Labs (internal tools environment)
- Translate technical AI capabilities into business-relevant language for non-technical stakeholders
- Surface and amplify success stories to build organizational momentum
Strategy & Governance (10%)
- Partner with the CTO to refine and execute LINQ’s AI strategy
- Maintain an AI adoption roadmap with clear priorities, dependencies, and milestones
- Collaborate with Security (CISO) and Compliance to ensure AI tooling meets FERPA, COPPA, PCI, and CCPA requirements
- Track the AI vendor landscape and make informed build-vs-buy-vs-integrate recommendations
- Contribute to board and investor narratives around LINQ’s AI maturity
What You Bring
Required
- 8+ years in technical program management, developer experience, platform engineering, or a similarly cross-functional technical role
- Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of new tools and practices across an engineering organization—not just advocacy, but measurable results
- Strong technical fluency: you can review prompts, evaluate AI tools, design workflows, and build prototypes (scripting, light app development, API integrations)
- Experience working with LLMs, AI copilots, or automation tooling in a professional context—not just personal experimentation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; you can explain complex technical concepts to a CFO and debug a prompt chain with an engineer in the same afternoon
- Comfort operating in ambiguity with minimal direction; you define the path, not just walk it
- Experience in a PE-backed, multi-product SaaS environment (or similar complexity)
Preferred
- Experience in K–12 education technology or another regulated vertical (healthcare, fintech)
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to AI deployment (FERPA, COPPA, SOC 2)
- Background in developer experience, internal tools, or platform teams
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS
- Track record of building and scaling internal programs or communities of practice
