Role Summary

SonicWall is seeking a Principal Technical Content Developer to lead the creation of impactful, scalable, and engaging enablement content for our global sales and partner ecosystem. This is a senior-level role responsible for translating complex cybersecurity concepts into effective learning experiences that empower sellers, sales engineers, and partners to confidently position and sell SonicWall’s portfolio.

This individual will collaborate closely with product management, product marketing, technical experts, and field leadership to develop technical narratives, sales tools, demos, and role-specific learning content. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cybersecurity, instructional design, and sales/technical training—with a passion for transforming technical knowledge into engaging learning journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead content strategist and developer for technical sales enablement programs, including SonicWall’s firewalls, Cloud Secure Edge, MSSP solutions, and endpoint offerings.
  • Translate complex product and solution messaging into engaging, audience-appropriate content for sales reps, SEs, and partners.
  • Create and maintain scalable content assets including:
  • Technical one-pagers, sales plays, and competitive guides
  • Demo scripts, call flows, and objection handling resources
  • Modular eLearning content, technical how-to videos, and job aids
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with product positioning and use cases.
  • Drive content design using modern instructional design frameworks (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and tools such as Mindtickle, Articulate 360, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Support global product launches, sales campaigns, and onboarding initiatives with high-impact technical enablement.
  • Own and refine content development processes and templates to improve content findability, reuse, and consistency across the learning ecosystem.
  • Provide mentorship and content quality review for junior team members or contract developers.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in technical content development, instructional design, or technical training—preferably in the cybersecurity or enterprise IT space.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity concepts and technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, SASE, zero trust, endpoint security, and secure remote access.
  • Experience building enablement content for field sellers, inside sales, and/or channel partners.
  • Proven ability to synthesize technical information into clear, concise, and engaging learning formats.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, and LMS platforms (Mindtickle experience preferred).
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. Relevant certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+, etc.) are a plus.
