The Healthcare (Regulated Industries) Technical Architect team works with Salesforce’s healthcare customers, from local clinics and regional hospitals to global healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, payers and more. As pre-sales engineers and architects, we partner with our customers to drive digital transformation within their organizations and support the sales team in winning new business. We work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment where everyone brings something unique to the table to get the job done.

Your ImpactThe most effective Technical Architects focus on these areas of impact:

* Work with Payers, Providers, Pharma and Medtech companies to solve a wide variety of technical challenges using Salesforce solutions across our whole suite of products and clouds.
* Develop relationships with customer IT stakeholders, and help them to understand how the Salesforce platform fits into their overall technology strategy.
* Act as a trusted advisor, and guide customers towards solutions that have the greatest likelihood of long-term success.
* Hone knowledge of the Salesforce platform through hands-on training and exploration in the areas of customization, integration, and service delivery, and support our account-aligned solution engineers when this deeper level of expertise is needed to solve customer challenges. 
* Evangelize the value proposition, benefits, and advantages, of the Salesforce Platform including Hyperforce, Data 360, Agentforce, Mulesoft, Informatica, Slack and more. Educate customers and peers on the possibilities of building and customizing Platform applications.
* Strong understanding of AI and Data architecture principles and the competitive landscape.
* Understand and advise on the broad ecosystem of ISV and partner solutions that cooperate and integrate with Salesforce.
* Guide deal strategy by providing insight into the technical buyer, and craft influence strategies that resonate with this audience.
* Keep current with both partner and competitive technologies in order to put proposed solutions into the context of the broader technology landscape.
* Highlight insights from customer conversations with our product teams to help ensure we are moving in the direction of market needs.
* Share your knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned with the broader solution engineering teams to multiply the impact of your work.
* Continue to develop yourself as a technologist and as a presales professional in a supportive, collaborative team environment.

Baseline Requirements: 

* Ability to understand business & IT department requirements, translate those business needs into a compelling solution, and present your recommendations to executive, technical, and business audience.
* Exceptional executive presence and proven ability to articulate complex topics effectively to both C-suite leaders and technical practitioners.
* Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and their delivery, including several of the following:
    * Some coding experience and a willingness to work with code (Apex, Node, Go, R, Java or C#, JavaScript, python, Ruby, etc.)
    * Database and data management fundamentals
    * Web and mobile application development and architecture
    * Application lifecycle management
    * Integration principles and tools
    * Enterprise data management tools and methods
    * Process orchestration
    * Principles of network, application, and information security
* Experience with machine learning concepts (predictive and generative AI), plus the ability to communicate value to diverse audiences.
* Deeply research, evaluate, and experiment with emerging AI and Data technologies, distilling practical, hands-on knowledge and patterns to enable internal teams and guide customer solutions.
* Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication and relationship skills.
* Strategic thinker, thought leadership and comfort communicating with executive audiences.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to support multiple, concurrent projects.
* Lifelong learner, inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge.
* Willing and able to travel domestically.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, other STEM degrees or equivalent work experience. Graduate study a plus.


Preferred Requirements: 

* Experience working as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant or developer in a customer facing role that provided differentiated software technology solutions. We are open to a variety of backgrounds.
* Experience in roles that required working hands-on to build, implement, administer, or maintain enterprise software (e.g. software engineer, implementation architect, integration architect, or similar).
* Understanding of risk mitigation, compliance and security.
* Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery or other innovation techniques.
* Industry experience in Healthcare or Life Sciences space is a plus.
* Knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $173,460 - $231,980 annually There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $190,750 - $255,150 per year. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
