The Opportunity:

Miris is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in C++ and Go, experience in the realms of streaming media, network transport, or familiarity with video player development, video codec compression and delivery. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our streaming capabilities and optimizing network performance for delivering 3D content for linear storytelling in various AR/VR devices.

What You'll Do: 

  • Lead the design of adaptable streaming architectures for 3D streaming media
  • Implement and maintain network transport algorithms to ensure efficient data transmission
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate streaming
  • Contribute to the development of adaptive streaming technologies, focusing on dynamic bandwidth adjustment and network protocols (similar to MPEG DASH algorithms), and RESTish web services
  • Conduct code reviews and lead coding standards and practices
  • Troubleshoot issues, and enhance existing codebases to improve performance and maintainability

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in C++ development, with streaming media applications
  • Experience with Go and web services
  • Experience leading project architectures and teams
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to sharing knowledge and ideas
  • Demonstrated experience with network transport protocols and media delivery
  • Experience with adaptive bitrate streaming and client-side media playback logic
  • Experience in developing and optimizing media players and use of CDNs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Unity or Unreal
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Python

  • AR/VR
  • Knowledge of CDN (Content Delivery Network) architectures and streaming workflows
  • Experience with graphics programming and rendering technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)

$108,639$287,488 USD
