We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Research Engineer to lead cutting-edge research at the intersection of machine learning and robotics. This role will focus on advancing dexterous manipulation and control through the development of novel AI algorithms and models. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with theoretical innovation and practical deployment, and thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Areas of Contribution
Conduct research on and apply state-of-the-art machine learning and AI algorithms—particularly those relevant to robotic control and dexterous manipulation.
Contribute to long-term strategic planning by identifying emerging research opportunities and informing technology partnerships.
Collaborate with engineering teams across the company to design, train, and deploy high-performance models for robotic control.
Translate advances in multimodal models, reinforcement learning, and embodied AI into scalable, real-world robotic systems.
Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent industry experience.
Proven research track record in robotics, AI, or machine learning, demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications in top conferences and journals (e.g., RSS, ICRA, NeurIPS, CVPR).
Deep understanding of machine learning theory and applications, especially in control systems.
Hands-on experience with multimodal large language models (LLMs), reinforcement learning (RL), or related AI methods.
Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for algorithm development and system integration.
Familiarity with robotic simulators (e.g., MuJoCo, Isaac Gym, PyBullet) and deployment on physical robotic hardware.
