Principal Project Manager (Remote)

We are currently hiring a Principal Project Manager to help grow our company and ensure our mission is achieved!     

This role is a work from home position and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in one of our corporate locations in Utah or Arizona.

YOU ARE: A highly driven and detail-oriented Project Manager responsible for leading high-impact, cross-functional technology initiatives across Product, Engineering, and Business teams. You thrive in navigating complexity, managing interdependencies, and driving initiatives to successful outcomes through structured planning and execution. You bring deep experience in both Agile and hybrid project delivery approaches and are passionate about clarity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: 

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, technology-driven projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and budget 

• Manage multiple interdependent workstreams and priorities, across stakeholder groups including Engineering, Product, Operations, Compliance, and Finance 

• Establish clear project goals, milestones, and metrics, while managing risks, dependencies, and constraints 

• Drive project governance by facilitating decision-making processes and ensuring alignment with Progressive’s Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) 

• Act as the key liaison between technical and business teams, providing timely and accurate project updates, including status, issues, and risk escalations to senior leadership 

• Implement structured change control processes to manage scope and business-critical changes 

• Collaborate closely with regulatory, security, and compliance teams to ensure project delivery meets internal and external standards 

• Apply project management best practices to drive efficiency, accountability, and transparency in project execution 

• Promote a culture of documentation, retrospectives, and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle 

• Partner with Finance to support accurate forecasting, budget tracking, and outcome measurement 

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and optimize future project delivery strategies 

YOU’LL BRING: 

• 5+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional technical projects in enterprise environments 

• Proven ability to deliver results across diverse stakeholder groups and navigate competing priorities 

• Familiarity managing technology initiatives involving infrastructure, security, software development, compliance, or data platform work 

• Practical experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and other project management and collaboration platforms 

• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and lead without authority 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a calm and confident approach under pressure 

• Experience in both Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies; ability to flex based on team and project needs 

• Preferred: PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification 

• Experience with enterprise-scale system implementations, regulatory initiatives, or cloud/data transformations is a plus
