The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Program Cost Schedule and Control Analyst – Level 3. This position will be located in Commerce, CA and will be onsite. This role offers a 9/80 schedule, which means every other Friday off.


Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) tasks, Integrated Baseline Review (IBR), customer EVM reporting, set up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system
  • Performs analysis and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
  • Prepare budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles and variance analysis
  • Run weekly reports of actuals cost incurred and prepare reports to compare the variance between budgeted work and actual cost incurred
  • Maintain earned value compliance including cost/schedule integration 
  • Lead the preparation and submittal of monthly IPMR CDRLs (Formats 1-7)
  • Interface with Program and Functional/Business Management to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements
  • Coordinate and interface with site resources to develop accurate and timely program EAC updates
  • Effectively communicate with leadership and customers regarding financial status, metrics and deliverables
  • Prepare financial inputs to internal reports and presentations
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and best practices sharing with Peers

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of Finance or Accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years of EVMS or financial planning experience – OR - a Master’s Degree and 4+ years of Finance or Accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years of EVMS or financial planning experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with Costpoint, Cobra or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • Current, active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Led EVM Compliant Program
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of internal customers

Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
