About the Team:

STR’s Analytics and C2 Division researches and develops novel technologies to solve challenging national security problems through advanced analytics. Our team consists of passionate and motivated engineers and scientists with advanced degrees in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, and data science. We use our expertise and creativity to take innovative ideas from conception to mature implementation to improve mission success of our customers.


The Signals Exploitation and Tracking (SET) Group in the Analytics and C2 Division focuses on applying machine learning, statistics, estimation theory, and information theory algorithms for signals exploitation, target tracking, predictive analytics, and system resource management.

The Role:

As a Principal Product Lead in the SET group, you will work with SET leadership to craft, drive, and execute a product development and marketing strategy that will integrate, test, and demonstrate SET capabilities to achieve (1) more efficient re-use on new B2G (Business-to-Government) Research and Development opportunities, (2) integrated system offerings for B2G system acquisition opportunities, and (3) component and sub-system offerings for B2B (Business-to-Business) supply chain opportunities. Work with customers, end users, and SET capability product owners to shape product development backlogs that balance short-term program goals with long-term and emerging customer needs. Work with a diverse set of customers and diverse set of problems, technology areas, and engineering teams. Support product architecture and design reviews as part of an agile development process.  This position requires leading continued development of relevant technology products, specifically focused on delivering advanced algorithms and software solutions for the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.

Who You Are:

  • MS with at least 15 years of experience, and/or PhD with at least 10 years of experience (or equivalent experience) in a scientific field such as applied math, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or data science.
  • Experience with sensing systems, data analytics, and DevOps software processes
  • Experience leading system and technology development teams
  • Experience spanning all product development phases, from ideation to technology research and product development
  • Proven ability to lead moderate to large engineering teams (10-40 engineers) through complete Agile development lifecycle including task definition, delegation, and maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in working with both internal leadership and external customers in the development and execution of technology and system development programs
  • US. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $206,000 - $275,000

 The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
