Be a part of our IT Core Engineering Infrastructure as a Senior Linux Systems Administrator!  We are the IT Core Engineering infrastructure team, responsible for delivering Backup, Storage, Compute and Cloud Service solutions enabling IDEXX to provide quality products and services to our customers.

In This Role you will:

  • Be part of a small collaborative team that designs, deploys, manages, and monitors Linux systems in on prem and cloud environments
  • Leverage your AWS skills deploying and supporting services such as WAF, Load Balancing, VPC’s, CloudFront, etc.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain services to ensure 24x7x365 availability
  • Regularly provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
  • Collaborate to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
  • Be responsible for designing and implementing systems administration solutions to support IT projects and operational needs
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
  • Be responsible for identifying and analyzing faults, logging relevant information, and reporting performance exceptions or failures
  • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
  • Proactively monitor system performance and capacity planning
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes on servers

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • 8 to 10+ years or more of Linux systems administration experience preferred
  • Red Hat, Suse, or Ubuntu experience required
  • Experience with AWS EC2, Storage, networking, and security is a plus
  • Skills with monitoring and alerting system, DataDog is a nice to have, or experience with other related systems
  • Familiarity and experience with Linux shell scripting required
  • Red Hat Satellite experience is a plus
  • Suse HA/pacemaker skills is a plus
  • Terraform experience is a plus
  • Familiarity and/or experience using code repository tools such as Git

What you can expect from us:
• Base annual salary target: $120000 - $140000 (yes, we do have flexibility if needed)
• Opportunity for annual cash bonus
