Role Overview:
We are seeking a visionary Principal Front End Architect to drive the evolution of our frontend architecture and champion a cohesive, AI-enabled, modern UI/UX experience across our product portfolio. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role responsible for defining the user interface strategy that aligns with MeridianLink’s long-term vision, ensuring consistency, scalability, and quality across all products.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and evolve frontend architecture and standards for our Angular and React applications
Define, document, and enforce frontend architectural principles company-wide
Develop and maintain a shared design system and frontend platform strategy for consistent user experiences
Ensure best practices, reusable patterns, and cross-framework consistency across Angular and React
Guide framework coexistence, migration, and modernization strategies
Set clear performance, accessibility (WCAG), observability, and automated testing standards
Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX Design, and Backend Engineering to shape intuitive end-to-end user flows
Advocate for UI, UX, and platform-level improvements by influencing product and engineering roadmaps
Mentor and guide engineers and frontend leads across teams
Represent frontend architecture and UI strategy in cross-organizational technical forums and architecture reviews
Drive adoption and contribution to shared UI libraries, components, and standards
Integrate AI-assisted UX patterns such as intelligent recommendations, guided workflows, contextual insights, and adaptive UI behaviors
Establish guardrails for responsible AI usage in frontend experiences, considering performance, accessibility, and ethical UX
Define patterns supporting human-in-the-loop UX, transparency, auditability, and feedback in AI-powered interfaces
Promote AI-assisted frontend development practices, including code generation, refactoring, testing, accessibility checks, and documentation
Accelerate delivery while maintaining quality through design-to-code and component generation workflows, leveraging AI appropriately
What You Bring:
Extensive experience as a Frontend Architect or in a similar leadership role
Deep hands-on expertise in modern frontend frameworks, especially Angular and React
Strong UI/UX sensibility and proven ability to translate user needs and designs into scalable technical solutions
Experience developing and scaling shared design systems and UI platforms in complex environments
Thorough understanding of frontend performance optimization, accessibility standards, and testing strategies
Skilled at leading through influence, setting architectural direction, and mentoring senior engineers
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities with cross-functional teams
Track record of delivering thoughtful, trustworthy AI-enabled user experiences
Strong leadership at the intersection of frontend engineering, UX, and AI
Passion for improving developer productivity via standards, shared systems, and AI-assisted workflows
