- Lead architecture reviews and mentor engineering teams on design decisions

- Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization

- Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, and compliance teams

- Implement critical integration APIs and proof-of-concepts using modern development tools

- Drive architectural transformation from monolithic to capability-based distributed systems

- Ensure architecture compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, and medical device regulations

- You will be very comfortable using AI tools like Claude Code/Cursor etc.

- Production experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)

- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, event-driven architecture, and async messaging patterns

- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred) and cloud-native architecture

- Understanding of integration patterns: service mesh, API gateway, BFF, event sourcing, CQRS

- Database architecture experience with both relational (PostgreSQL/SQL Server) and NoSQL (CosmosDB/MongoDB) systems

Healthcare & Compliance:

- Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or highly regulated industries (financial services, government)

Product Engineering & Leadership:

- Proven track record architecting platforms supporting multiple product lines or business units

- Experience establishing architecture governance, design standards, and reference architectures

- Strong stakeholder management skills - ability to communicate technical decisions to both engineers and executives

- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and conducting architecture reviews

- Track record of balancing architectural rigor with pragmatic delivery in agile environments

AI-Augmented Development:

- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar)

- Experience leveraging AI for code generation, architecture design, and documentation

- Ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated code and architectural recommendations

- Understanding of prompt engineering and effective collaboration with AI coding assistants

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Technical Skills:

- Hands-on production experience with Python and FastAPI (async/await, Pydantic, type hints)

- Production Kubernetes/AKS experience with Helm, service mesh, and container-based CI/CD

- Azure platform services: AKS, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, CosmosDB, Event Hubs, Key Vault, API Management

- Event streaming platforms (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs) and event-driven microservices patterns

- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep)

- GraphQL and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectural patterns

Architecture & Methodologies:

- Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) or capability modeling tools (LeanIX, Ardoq)
