Role & Responsibilities
LOCATION: United States (Remote)
Our Reporting team builds the foundation for data visualization across our products. We’re responsible for designing and delivering the data APIs that power both graphical and tabular reporting, as well as developing the UI components that bring that data to life. The team is remote, highly collaborative, focused on enabling insights through intuitive and reliable reporting experiences.
About the Role
As a Principal Engineer on the Reporting team, you’ll act as both a technical leader and a hands-on contributor. This is a true player/coach role: you’ll mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and unblock delivery on strategic goals. You’ll also contribute directly by writing code, guiding design decisions, and supporting products post-release.
What You’ll Do
- Mentor, coach, and guide engineers at varying levels of experience.
- Troubleshoot production and development issues, ensuring high-quality reporting features.
- Write and review code with an emphasis on clean, scalable APIs and robust UI components.
- Provide technical direction to keep sprint goals and long-term initiatives on track.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to build data-driven experiences.
- Support released products by diagnosing and resolving issues quickly.
- Proven ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience as both an individual contributor and a technical leader.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a focus on unblockers and problem-solving.
- Open-minded and adaptable — industry experience is flexible, what matters is technical depth and leadership.

- HTMX experience (or willingness to learn)
- Experience with data visualization frameworks (e.g., D3.js, Sigma.js, or similar)

What We Offer
This position has a salary range of $184,000 - $220,000 + Equity + Benefits. The actual compensation offer will be determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, applicant's qualifications, skills, and experience.
