VideoAmp is on a mission to create the best employee and workplace experience where people can bring their whole self to work everyday.  We believe that accomplishing something great requires a special group of people who work hard, drive results and have a blast while doing it - people who challenge the status quo and embody our values.  People who say “I’ll find a way” instead of saying “it can’t be done.”

At VideoAmp, we believe in challenging advertising paradigms to maximize value for clients. We do this by enabling companies to execute on business outcomes across their media investment instead of more traditional media metrics. VideoAmp is the software and data solutions company powering the convergence of linear TV and digital video advertising. Our solutions connect linear TV viewership with addressable data assets to benefit the marketing and media industries. This enables marketers and content owners to holistically plan, transact, and measure deduplicated audiences across digital video, OTT, connected and linear TV advertising.

Role & Responsibilities

LOCATION: United States (Remote)

About the Team
Our Reporting team builds the foundation for data visualization across our products. We’re responsible for designing and delivering the data APIs that power both graphical and tabular reporting, as well as developing the UI components that bring that data to life. The team is remote, highly collaborative, focused on enabling insights through intuitive and reliable reporting experiences.
About the Role
As a Principal Engineer on the Reporting team, you’ll act as both a technical leader and a hands-on contributor. This is a true player/coach role: you’ll mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and unblock delivery on strategic goals. You’ll also contribute directly by writing code, guiding design decisions, and supporting products post-release.
What You’ll Do
  • Mentor, coach, and guide engineers at varying levels of experience.
  • Troubleshoot production and development issues, ensuring high-quality reporting features.
  • Write and review code with an emphasis on clean, scalable APIs and robust UI components.
  • Provide technical direction to keep sprint goals and long-term initiatives on track.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to build data-driven experiences.
  • Support released products by diagnosing and resolving issues quickly.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience as both an individual contributor and a technical leader.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a focus on unblockers and problem-solving.
  • Open-minded and adaptable — industry experience is flexible, what matters is technical depth and leadership.
Tech Stack & Skills
  • Must-have:
    • Strong experience with Go
    • Strong experience designing and building APIs
  • Strong plus:
    • Python
  • Nice to have:
    • HTMX experience (or willingness to learn)
    • Experience with data visualization frameworks (e.g., D3.js, Sigma.js, or similar)
    • Exposure to MCP and similar methodologies

If you're passionate about all things data and tech, and have extensive knowledge and curiosity around the digital media space, we’d love to hear from you.

Above all, if you're eager to influence and support the revolutionary goals of a dynamic, cross-functional team -  join us and make an impact!
