WHAT OUR PRINCIPAL ENGINEERS ENJOY THE MOST
- Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas.
- Ability to take a business problem and create a technical solution to solve the problem.
- Investigate complex customer-impacting Internet and Wi-Fi issues, leveraging raw network telemetry.
- Analyze modem and access network data to identify anomalies, degradations, and failure patterns.
- Perform deep packet analysis, RF spectrum analysis, and impairment detection during triage sessions to help identify potential root causes on high-priority data anomalies.
- Mentors and guides the data analysts and data scientists to refine anomaly detection algorithms and reduce false positives.
- Partners with network engineers, operational teams, field technicians, and others to assist in troubleshooting of access networks and CPE equipment.
- Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- Ten (10)+ years of engineering work experience
- Ten (10)+ years pf public cloud experience
- Education:
- Master's or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols.
- Advanced knowledge in using network design, network architecture, network devices, network appliances, protocols, network topology and network designing software, such as Visio.
- Advanced knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly , and use personal computer and software applications.

- Shift Requirements:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Preferred Education
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.).
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Spectrum products and services.
- Advanced knowledge in WiFi (802.11), TCP/IP networking, OSI model, DOCSIS, RF, and access networks.
- Advanced knowledge in network telemetry data, SNMP, TR-069, Syslog, and streaming telemetry.
- Experience working with big-data processing and data analytics tools (Spark, AWS, Tableau, Grafana) .
- Ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical findings into business impact.
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers and data analysts or scientists and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Related Work Experience
- Prior experience working in an AIOps solutions for automated network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Mesh Wi-Fi networks, Wi-Fi Quality of Experience metrics, and troubleshooting Wi-Fi related issues.
