Ready to lead a high performing public cloud engineering team? As a Principal Engineer II, you will work to help the team prioritize, build, ship the most impactful features to Spectrum's customers and serve as a mentor to help guide and train other engineers on the team. This position will evaluate the needs, time limitations, and system limitations when developing software. This position must remain up to date on new technologies and software development practices and is able to translate these skills to their team's deliverables.
WHAT OUR PRINCIPAL ENGINEER II ENJOY THE MOST
  • Assigned the most complex and critical projects that involve several technical systems and constituents.
  • Designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots public cloud platforms in assigned areas.
  • Ability to take a business problem and create a technical solution to solve the problem.
  • Tests and reviews cloud native designs.
  • Provides a high level of Engineering Technical support and guidance to developer customers and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met.
  • Mentors and guides the work of senior technical staff, presents to senior leadership effectively.
  • Ability to create technical documents such as whitepapers, 6 pagers etc.
  • Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Ten (10+) years of engineering work experience
    • Ten (10+) years pf public cloud experience
  • Education:
    • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
  • Technical Skills:
    • Master expert knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber
    • AWS public cloud - Professional Cert Preferred
    • Master expert knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
    • Master expert knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model
    • Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
    • Master expert knowledge of cloud native designs, such as microservices, serverless etc.
    • Python or Golang experience required.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
    • Ability to use personal computer and software application.
  • Work Environment:
    • Office environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of company products and services

  • AWS Solutions Architect - Professional

The base pay for this position generally is between
$124,000.00 and $220,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
