How You'll Make an Impact
- Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas
- Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary
- Test and review system designs
- Provide engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met
- Mentor and guide the work of technical staff
- Review work plans, design and advise on improvements
- Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable
- Know, understand and follow Spectrum policy

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Education
- Master's or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
Experience
- 5+ years of engineering work experience
- 5+ years of project management work experience
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Basic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
- Basic knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology, TCP/IP and the OSI Model, using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations
- Basic knowledge of network devices, basic network appliances and network designing software, such as Visio
- Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment, learn new technology quickly, and use personal computer and software applications
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of business users in a professional manner.
- Extensive experience with collaborating and building team consensus when interacting with both the leadership and the implementation teams.

- Experienced Contractor relations (Electrical, Low Voltage)
- Experienced RF Networks Design and build
- Experienced IP Networks build
- Experienced HFC Edge Network Devices Design and build

- -48VDC power, 90VAC power experience
