In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape foundational technical direction across multiple teams, set standards for how we build scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems, and guide the evolution of services critical to Rubrik’s business. You’ll work closely with technical leaders, product managers, and stakeholders from across the company, while also mentoring and uplifting fellow engineers.Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive architecture and technology vision for distributed systems across Rubrik’s core platform
- Identify technical challenges and opportunities that span multiple products or teams, creating clear strategies and plans
- Lead design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure and platform services
- Guide teams through complex problem spaces and collaborate with other groups to ensure alignment with business and product goals
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in customer environments
- Set and evolve technical standards and best practices around quality, performance, reliability, and operational excellence
- Mentor and coach senior engineers and technical leads across the organization
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience building and architecting large-scale distributed systems
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- Expertise in languages such as Go, C++, Java, and Python
- Hands-on experience with at least one modern cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Deep foundations in distributed systems, networking, storage, kernel, and operating systems
- Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining high-performance, reliable, and secure platforms
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with proven experience influencing technical direction across teams
- Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of learning and growth
- Experience working with open source software is a plus
