Your role at Dynatrace
Dynatrace is looking for a seasoned editorial leader with a deep connection to the developer community to join our content team. As Senior Editor, Developer Content Strategy, you will own the voice, vision, and strategy for engaging full-stack developers-from backend engineers to SREs to cloud-native architects. This role is ideal for someone who can blend journalistic instinct with technical curiosity, bringing clarity to complexity and elevating stories that matter to hands-on practitioners. You'll work closely with our Developer Relations, Product Management, and Product Marketing teams to craft content that educates, inspires, and builds long-term trust with developers. Whether it's exploring observability trends, breaking down OpenTelemetry, or highlighting developer-led innovation, you'll help Dynatrace earn its place in the daily workflows and mental models of engineering teams. Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and lead Dynatrace's content strategy for developers and technical practitioners.
  • Write and edit a wide range of content including blog posts, deep-dive guides, thought leadership, and interviews.
  • Partner with DevRel to amplify community stories, internal developer voices, and OSS perspectives.
  • Translate technical narratives into editorially engaging, high-value content for developers.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to align messaging with strategic priorities while maintaining technical credibility.
  • Build scalable content series, editorial themes, and developer-facing campaigns.
  • Contribute to enablement resources, campaign content, and developer landing pages in support of broader marketing goals.

What will help you succeed
  • 7+ years in editorial, content strategy, or technical journalism (experience in developer-focused roles strongly preferred).
  • A portfolio that includes writing for or about developers, open source, cloud-native, or DevOps technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, advocates, and product managers to shape accurate and compelling stories.
  • Clear understanding of developer personas, motivations, and the modern software development lifecycle.
  • Strong editorial judgment, storytelling instincts, and an eye for what makes content. resonate with a technical audience.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, observability, or cloud-native tooling a plus
