We are looking for an enthusiastic DevOps Engineer to be responsible for designing, building and maintaining our operational infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for a dynamic, heavily automated, rapidly growing cloud-based infrastructure supporting tens of thousands of applications created by thousands of our customers. You’ll be working with a team of strong engineers and the most modern technologies.

Our DevOps team thrives on automating processes and incorporating high-availability thinking into every step. We build with a goal of zero downtime, and automate everything from builds to tests to deploys to monitoring. We leverage cloud automation tools extensively to create a highly optimized pipeline from development through to production.

The ideal individual has 3+ years of experience in DevOps processes, exposure to AWS or other public clouds, strong analytical skills and technical skills, as well as the ability to interact with senior leadership and thrive in a fast-paced startup. You will be a senior technologist within the team, responsible for both design and development as well as operations of our critical infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Infrastructure Services
    • Manage environments from build out through production operation
    • Assist in developing critical operational processes
    • Construct and maintain deployment  pipelines
    • Develop and maintain strong OS and network security practices 
    • Develop and maintain system configurations 
    • Create and maintain related documentation
  • Security
    • Assist implementing OS hardening process for information security & compliance
    • Manage Vulnerability remediation within information security & compliance guidelines
    • Adhere to and improve corporate security & compliance principles, secure software delivery practices, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA).
  • Operational Performance
    • Proactively monitor system performance, health and capacity.
    • Participate in a 24×7 on call rotation
  • Partnership
    • Collaborate with Information Security on cloud and customer data security.
    • Collaborate with Customer Support on operational issues and provide solutions.
    • Collaborate with Software Engineering on best practices and solutions.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related roles, with a strong track record of delivering high-impact results
  • 5+ years experience in  Linux administration (RedHat)
  • Strong scripting skills (BASH, Python, Go, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management software  (Ansible preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of deployment software (Terraform, Rundeck)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, pipelines, provisioning and troubleshooting
  • Strong experience with Docker and orchestration platforms, including deployment and scaling in production environments.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog) and log aggregation platforms (e.g., Sumologic, Splunk).
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and performance issues.
  • Excellent written communications: clarity, brevity, grammar
  • Excellent verbal communications: articulateness, patience, listening skills
  • Professionalism: promptness, attention to detail, organization
  • Knowledge of AWS, including VPC, EC2, Route 53, S3, EKS, Cloudfront, and RDS (Aurora)
  • US Citizen required

Bonus Points

  • Experience with GitLab for project management and CI/CD
  • Enterprise SaaS: Experience in SaaS enterprise product, environment, and deployment lifecycle management
  • Certifications: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) or other relevant cloud/DevOps certifications.
  • Disaster Recovery: Experience designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions in cloud environments.
  • No-Code/Low-Code Expertise: Understanding of the no-code/low-code platform industry and its infrastructure requirements.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 depending upon experience.
