Your Impact at TGG 

As a Principal Consultant at The Gunter Group (TGG), you are a senior leader responsible for strengthening our firm through business growth, trusted client partnerships, and people leadership. You create new opportunities for our clients and business and help shape the future of TGG through active leadership across the firm.

You serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders, steward strategic client relationships, and lead complex consulting engagements that drive meaningful outcomes. You lead through influence, coaching, and example, balancing client leadership, business growth, and consultant development while remaining actively engaged in the work that creates value for our clients.

As a member of our senior leadership team, you play an important role in strengthening our culture, developing talent, expanding TGG’s impact, and helping position the firm for long-term success.

Drive Healthy Growth
  • Create and pursue strategic growth opportunities within target markets and emerging areas of client need.
  • Build and strengthen relationships that expand TGG’s network and create new business opportunities.
  • Lead and support business development efforts, contributing to opportunity development, sales pursuits, forecasting, and growth planning.
  • Partner with other TGG leaders to strengthen our market presence, expand our impact across industries and communities, and advance the firm’s strategic priorities.
Lead Client Relationships & Accounts
  • Serve as the account leader for a portfolio of strategic client relationships, with responsibility for account growth, health, delivery quality, and long-term partnership success.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with executive-level client leaders, serving as a strategic advisor through complex business decisions, organizational change, and transformation efforts.
  • Develop account strategies that strengthen partnerships, align TGG’s capabilities to evolving client needs, and create opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
  • Lead and oversee complex consulting engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and meaningful business outcomes.
  • Partner with consulting teams to deliver exceptional client experiences and sustainable account performance.
  • Apply systems thinking, business acumen, and sound judgment to help clients navigate complexity and achieve lasting impact.
Develop People & Teams
  • Coach, mentor, and develop consultants, helping them grow their capabilities, expand their impact, and prepare for future leadership opportunities.
  • Create an environment of accountability, trust, collaboration, and continuous development across engagement teams.
  • Lead high-performing teams across strategy, execution, people, and technology-focused engagements.
  • Provide timely feedback, guidance, and support that strengthens both individual performance and team effectiveness.
  • Communicate proactively, creating clarity and alignment for clients, consultants, and TGG leaders.
  • Model strong leadership presence through sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and effective decision-making in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Help establish and reinforce best practices that support consultant growth and leadership development across TGG.
Shape the Future of TGG
  • Help strengthen TGG’s capabilities, service offerings, and consulting approaches to meet evolving client and market needs.
  • Contribute to firm strategy and key initiatives that support TGG’s long-term success and continued growth.
  • Help strengthen and evolve TGG’s culture, ensuring our values remain evident in how we serve clients and support one another.
  • Share expertise, insights, and market perspectives that strengthen TGG’s reputation and help elevate others within the firm.
  • Stay informed on market, economic, consulting, and technology trends, including emerging technologies and AI, to help clients and TGG navigate an evolving landscape.
  • Act as a steward of the firm, balancing the needs of clients, consultants, and the business while helping position TGG for continued growth and impact.
What You Bring 
  • The mindset of a builder who takes ownership, invests in people and relationships, and is motivated by helping TGG grow, strengthen, and evolve over time.
  • 12+ years of consulting experience, including leadership roles responsible for client relationships, delivery outcomes, consulting teams, and business development.
  • Proven success creating opportunities, growing accounts, and building lasting client relationships through both existing partnerships and new market opportunities.
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to executive leaders and leading complex consulting engagements that deliver meaningful business outcomes.
  • Strong business judgment, executive presence, and the ability to build credibility and trust in a variety of environments.
  • The ability to connect strategy, execution, people, and technology to solve complex business challenges and drive lasting impact.
  • A track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing consultants, future leaders, and high-performing teams with the ability to provide clear and timely feedback.
  • A collaborative leadership style grounded in emotional intelligence, accountability, curiosity, and trust.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, align, and inspire others.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, bringing clarity, momentum, and confidence to complex situations.
  • Curiosity about evolving business challenges, emerging technologies, and new ways to create value for clients.
Working at The Gunter GroupSalary and Benefits

Supporting the well-being of our team is a priority at TGG. Our benefits package includes competitive health coverage, wellness programs, flexible PTO, professional development and work-from-home stipends, team offsites, social events, and volunteer opportunities.

The base salary for this role is $180,000–$230,000. Additional Compensation: In addition to base salary, Principals are eligible for uncapped bonus opportunities tied to account leadership, business development, and market growth. Our Principal compensation model is designed to reward the value Principals create for clients and the firm, resulting in a highly competitive total compensation opportunity.
