This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructures (Azure Government and Commercial) that meet compliance standards such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and DFARS 7012. It involves developing strategic architectural solutions, providing expert guidance on audits and security best practices, and collaborating with clients across industries to translate technical requirements into actionable deliverables. The position supports ongoing development and deployment of cloud features, mentors technical teams, and ensures thorough documentation and operational accuracy. With a strong focus on client success and operational excellence, the role promotes NeoSystems’ capabilities while serving as a trusted advisor to IT and business leaders. 

Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Define, analyze and review standardized Microsoft Azure cloud-based infrastructures for clients that require compliance in accordance with CMMC, NIST 800-171 and/or DFARS 7012. 
  • Develop architectural options and recommendations such as compliance requirements, audit guidance, security benchmarks and security best practices change. 
  • Interact with clients and prospects in multiple industries to define, detail, and scope technical requirements into deliverable solutions. 
  • Provide continuous development to incorporate feature releases for deployment to NeoSystems and customer Azure cloud infrastructure. 
  • Support implementation and operations technicians with solution details and advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution, providing technical mentoring and guidance. 
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation including design documents, configuration guides, Knowledge Base guides, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Maintain accurate time keeping records while performing work on client environments. 
  • Maintain accurate records of client operational environment i.e., credentials, network changes, etc. 
  • Promote NeoSystems service offerings and capabilities where services will enhance clients experience and security. 
  • Demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge in cloud-based infrastructure secure configuration and optimized performance. Focus on client’s key business challenges and drives to position himself/herself as a trusted advisor at the IT executive and business manager level. 

Competencies / Skills: 

Education 

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in I.T. / Computer Science / related field 
  • 5-7 years of related field experience 
  • 2-4 years additional experience accepted in lieu of a degree. 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate 

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years experience with development and administration of Azure and Azure Gov Cloud Services. 
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft 365 products and services, including commercial and Government cloud infrastructures. 
  • Advanced knowledge of automation and containerization tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins). 
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with PowerShell and other scripting technologies. 
  • Experience configuring systems to meet the compliance requirements found in NIST 800-171, DFARS 7012 and/or CMMC. 
  • Experience with migrating Windows networks including but not limited to file servers, email, databases to Office 365, Azure or similar cloud-based solutions. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 including but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, IIS, etc. 
  • Experience providing outsourced IT support. 
  • Experience with centralized monitoring and management tool sets (SIEM tools, Azure Monitor, Nerdio, ManageEngine, etc.). 
  • Experience with helpdesk systems and PSA (ConnectWise, Remedy, ServiceNow). 
  • Proven troubleshooting abilities for complex issues. 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required; must effectively communicate the scope of work and technical findings or recommendations to a non-technical audience; ability to produce readable, concise, and accurate written documentation required. 
  • Must have strong customer service orientation; be able to maintain a professional demeanor and work well under pressure to handle critical issues in timely manner. 
  • Must be able to isolate issues, define problems clearly and articulate solutions in a clear, concise, and consultative manner. 
  • Must be flexible and adaptable in diverse systems.  
  • Must be an independent thinker and self-starter. 
  • Occasional travel inside the United States to visit customer locations may be required. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.  

Preferred: 

  • Experience with behavioral virus protection applications (Microsoft Defender, Sentinel One, Carbon Black, etc.). 
  • Data backup and disaster recovery administration capabilities 
  • Proficiency with Exchange 2016 and Exchange Online. 
  • Proficiency with SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online. 
  • Any certification(s) from the following list: 
  • CompTIA A+ 
  • CompTIA Network+ 
  • CompTIA Security+ 
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Associate (MTA) 
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Administrator (MCSA) 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate 
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate 
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate 
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate 
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
