The Principal Architect, Data will lead technical project delivery while mentoring engineering teams, develop technology solutions based on client needs, and manage project timelines and stakeholder expectations, specifically focusing on data systems and Google Cloud technologies.
Zencore is a fast-growing company founded by former Google Cloud leaders, architects, and engineers. We are seeking candidates with significant experience in Google Cloud to join our team. Our engagements aim to eliminate obstacles, reduce risk, and accelerate timelines for customers transitioning to Google and seeking assistance with data and application modernization. We embed within customer teams to provide strategic guidance, facilitate technology decisions, and execute projects in a collaborative, co-development style.
We are looking for a Principal Architect, Data Solutions. This is an opportunity to showcase thought leadership and engineering skills along with experience with data systems and Google Cloud.
At Zencore, a Principal Architect is a key technical leader in our engineering organization and acts as the external face of our technical expertise. Principal architects are able to navigate a broad technical range but are specialized in one or more domains. A principal architect is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects within our professional services business.
Responsibilities
- Working with our clients to understand their requirements and technical challenges. Using this input you will develop solutions using cloud technology and evangelize the value of your solution to the client team.
- You will work with clients to develop estimates for the skills required and timelines to deliver Zencore projects. You should be able to turn these estimates into a clear proposal
- You will act as the lead technical member of the project team. You are responsible for keeping the technical delivery on track and unblocking when things are stuck. While this is an architecture role we expect you to be a hands on practitioner; you should be comfortable doing both architecture and execution
- You will act as a mentor inside of the engineering organizations. You are expected to be an expert in your technical domain, and you should be able to teach and enable others in order to up-skill the organization.
Desired Skillset
- Ability to understand business problem, user requirements and ability to translate it into a technology vision and solution modules
- Ability to comfortably navigate between big picture and detailed thinking
- Experience in executing large scale business and technology change including key stakeholder management along the journey
- Experience working with common data engineering tools including DBT, Airflow, NiFi, Spark, etc.
- Well versed in software development best practices
- Experience writing high-quality software. Preferably in Python or Java.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Google Cloud Experience preferred
