The Pricing Manager will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of pricing strategies to ensure the company maintains a competitive edge while maximizing profitability. This role requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across sales, finance, marketing, and product development departments.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the development of long-term pricing strategies across multiple product lines or services, ensuring they are competitive, aligned with market demands, and optimized for profitability.
- Create and manage pricing models that optimize margin and revenue. Develop and maintain financial models to forecast the impact of price changes on profitability and market share.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and product teams to ensure pricing strategies are aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Provide guidance on pricing for new products, services, and promotions.
- Analyze and adjust pricing structures regularly based on performance metrics, customer feedback, competitor activity, and cost structures. Ensure the company’s pricing is dynamic and flexible to respond to market conditions.
- Generate detailed pricing performance reports for senior management, including recommendations for price adjustments, promotions, or strategic pricing shifts. Measure the impact of pricing changes on sales, margins, and profitability.
- Oversee the implementation of pricing tools and systems that automate pricing strategies, streamline workflows, and improve pricing accuracy across the organization.
- Provide strategic oversight on the pricing of key contracts and large deals, ensuring that discounts and special pricing are aligned with company goals and profitability objectives.
- Establish and maintain pricing policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensure compliance with company pricing policies and market regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry and competitor pricing strategies to ensure competitive advantage.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Five (5)+ years of experience of experience in a pricing, finance, or analytical role.
- Experience with pricing models, forecasting, and market analysis is a plus.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions like VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and macros).
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in pricing models, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Expertise in market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Proficient in Excel, Tableau, SQL, or similar data analysis tools.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and finance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex pricing strategies to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage complex pricing strategies at scale
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for the majority of the workday
- This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard the majority of the workday
- This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as in-coming and out-going communications via the computer and/or mobile devices
- Must be able to work remotely and manage workload efficiently and prioritize projects with minimal supervision and maintain a quite setting while working with customers.
- The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates
