Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.

Position Overview
The Power Interconnection Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing detailed schedules for all power delivery and utility interconnection activities. This role focuses exclusively on the energy scope of large-scale data center projects, including substations, feeders, switchgear, and energization milestones. The scheduler will ensure that all energy-related timelines are fully aligned with overall project schedules managed by Preconstruction and Construction Project Controls teams, while also integrating critical utility milestones and approvals.

Essential Job Functions

Primavera P6 Scheduling

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed P6 schedules for power delivery scope, including substations, feeders, switchgear, transmission/distribution tie-ins, and energization activities.

  • Build logical task sequences using Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling to identify dependencies, critical risks, and impacts to power-on dates.

  • Structure schedules to incorporate utility lead times, permitting requirements, energization windows, outage coordination, and phased construction of electrical infrastructure and integrate them at a portfolio level.

Schedule Integration & Coordination

  • Integrate internal power delivery milestones into the broader master project schedule in close coordination with Preconstruction and Construction scheduling teams.

  • Incorporate external utility milestones, such as design approvals, equipment manufacturing and delivery, construction start dates, outage windows, inspections, commissioning, and regulatory approvals.

  • Coordinate closely with construction teams for electrical tie-ins, large load equipment (LLE) installation, substation completion, and energization sequencing to meeting milestone needs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary scheduling point of contact for all power delivery and utility interconnection activities, collaborating with engineering, construction, and external utility providers.

  • Lead and participate in utility coordination meetings, milestone reviews, and schedule updates, ensuring consistent communication and alignment across all stakeholders and projects.

Schedule Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct schedule health checks, risk assessments, and “what-if” scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of potential changes or delays.

  • Produce weekly and monthly schedule reports, milestone trackers, and look-ahead charts for internal leadership, utilities, and construction teams.

  • Identify schedule risks early and work with project teams to implement mitigation strategies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend schedule optimization strategies, contingency buffers, and sequencing enhancements based on lessons learned from previous projects.

  • Maintain a repository of utility lead-time benchmarks, approval durations, and outage planning best practices to support future planning efforts.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in scheduling for power delivery, utility interconnections, or substation/transmission projects.

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project at both project and portfolio levels; experience with Power BI or advanced Excel dashboards preferred.

  • Strong understanding of utility interconnection processes, electrical infrastructure, and CPM scheduling methodology including experience with interproject logic links.

  • Experience collaborating with electric utilities, EPC contractors, or large-scale infrastructure developers; hyperscale data center experience highly desirable.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both technical and executive audiences.

Preferred

  • PMP, PMI-SP, or AACE certification.

  • Familiarity with ISO/RTO interconnection processes (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO, PJM).

  • Experience with outage coordination and energization cutover scheduling.

  • Ability to travel periodically to project sites and utility coordination meetings.
