We manage credit funds that serve organic and transitioning row crop producers in the Midwest and Great Plains, regenerative livestock operators in the Mountain West and Southwest, and organic processing and storage infrastructure nationwide. Our approach combines disciplined underwriting with deep sector expertise to deliver capital that supports both borrower success and strong investor outcomes.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager with a strong background in agricultural lending. The Portfolio Manager will oversee Mad Capital’s growing loan portfolio, ensuring the highest standards of credit management, borrower service, compliance, and operational excellence. This individual will work closely with our investment, operations, and finance teams to ensure loans are originated, closed, serviced, and managed with integrity and precision.

Loan Contracting, Closing, & Billing

  • Prepare loan documents in coordination with legal.
  • Manage loan closings, including signature collection, collateral perfection, and compliance with conditions precedent.
  • Establish billing schedules, payment instructions, and ensure accurate invoicing with support from finance and accounting.
  • Manage day-to-day maintenance of the loan management system and the accuracy of the loan and payment information.

Loan Portfolio Oversight

  • Monitor performance of active loans, including repayments, delinquencies, and covenant compliance. 
  • Lead quarterly and annual data collection efforts (e.g., financial statements, impact surveys, and case studies).

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as primary contact for existing borrowers on servicing actions.
  • Oversee borrower payment issues and work with clients to implement solutions.
  • Support restructuring requests, modifications, and additional credit needs.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with farming operations to support repeat lending.

Team & Portfolio Platform Growth

  • Refine Mad Capital’s asset management assessment framework to ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Integrate new technologies, automation, and data sources to strengthen asset and risk management.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategy of Mad Capital by shaping the firm’s credit culture and asset management practices.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in lending, credit, or portfolio management in the agricultural finance space.
  • Deep familiarity with loan documentation, credit analysis, and servicing processes.
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to work effectively with farm and ranch operators.
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Commitment to Mad Capital’s mission of financing organic and regenerative agriculture.

Benefits
  • $80,000-$120,000 annual salary plus stock options. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
