The Player Assistant manages traffic on the golf course, assists customers, ensures a good experience, and reports issues to management.
The Seasonal Golf Course Player Assistant is one of the most visible employees of the facility. This position is tasked with directing the flow of traffic on the course, encouraging facility rules, assisting customers when needed, alerting management to any golf course problems, and promoting the facility. Due to the nature of the position, the Player Assistant must be calm and courteous, but firm at the same time. The biggest key to being a Player Assistant is to be well mannered and willing to walk away in situations that need to be handled by management.
Compensation: $15.00-$17.00 based on experience
Key Responsibilities of the Seasonal Golf Course Player Assistant:
- Be the on-course customer service specialist for the facility
- Communicates in a clear and professional manner that assists guests in playing the course.
- Promote the facility programs, events and image to the customers of the facility at all times
- Provide welcoming “first contact” with each customer or groups of customers and ensure they have an enjoyable experience
- Check with the golf shop for any unusual or special instructions, such as cart paths only etc.
- Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift
- Communicate with the golf shop on a regular basis
- Ensure carts are properly stored and refueled.
- Assist customers with any on-course problems – alert appropriate supervisor if necessary
- Keep work area neat and clean at all times
- Monitors pace of play performance and assists groups/guests when needed and reports any problems to the golf shop.
- Continually check in with the golf shop personnel (25-30 minutes), even if there is nothing to report, for possible change of duties.
- Be prepared for inclement weather (rain gear, etc.) communicate with golf shop during weather alerts as necessary.
- Directs start of play when necessary.
- Assist guest service staff as needed.
- This position may perform additional duties as needed/required.
- Assists with food and beverage activities as needed.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Participates in required employee orientation and safety trainings.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications of the Seasonal Golf Course Player Assistant:
- One-month related experience or training.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Excellent listening, communication, and comprehension skills required.

- Timely and reliable attendance.
- Maintains good personal hygiene and professional look; reports to work wearing a clean, neat uniform that follows uniform standards.
